You Need To Survive

Drown!

        The water roared in his ears. He blinked, looked up at the surface. He had survived the fall, which meant he had to drown himself.
        He pulled himself even closer to the floor of the bay. He tried to breathe in the water to make it quicker, but didn't succeed.
        He heard splashes above him. They were trying to save him. But he didn't want to be saved. He pulled himself even lower, trying to separate himself from them.
        He needed to apologize to Appa.
        He felt the blackness rushing at him like a blindfold, but didn't keep it away. He embraced it, let it overwhelm him.
        He smiled in the dark.
        But wait.
        There were three small lights in front of him. He swam closer, trying to see them better.
        Then he realized they weren't lights.
        They were people.
        Three of them, crossing their arms and looking at him. Their features were indistinct, but the one on the very left was very tall, the one in the middle was short, and the one on the right was even shorter.
        Taehyung tried to swim closer, but his hands hit something in front of him. Cool, smooth glass. He moved to the left, to the right, knocked on it. It was as solid as any other glass. Taehyung started to panic. What was a glass wall doing in a bay?
        It was a hallucination. He was hallucinating.
        Then why did the glass feel so real?
        Then the person on the left disappeared. In its place was a blur of images. They slowly became clearer, and Taehyung realized it was a video, repeating itself over and over again.
        It was the person being hit by a car.
        The person in the middle burst into flames. The flames blurred, and the video was produced. It was the person on fire.
        The third person dissolved slowly, turning into the video. In it, his head slipped under the water in a bathtub.
        The videos played over and over again. Then they stopped. Right before the first person was hit. Right before the second caught on fire. Right before the third person's head went under.
        And the faces cleared.
        Taehyung gasped. The first person was Jungkook. The second was Suga. The third was Jimin.
        The three turned around to face Taehyung. Jungkook's mouth moved, and the sound reverberated on Taehyung's ears.
        "Your death will hurt them more than it will help you."
        Then Suga talked.
        "Your life is more important to your Appa than you think it is."
        Then Jimin spoke.
        "Think about them. Think about your Eomma."
        All three of them spoke the four words that would haunt Taehyung forever.
        "You need to survive."
