Overdose
Taehyung and Jimin caught the plane to Seoul just in time. They wanted to tell J-Hope about Jungkook and Suga, but J-Hope wasn't picking up the phone. Taehyung and Jimin left at least 20 voicemails, but they decided they would tell him in person.
Once they landed, they followed the directions to J-Hope's home. J-Hope had sent them all his address before he left to find work in Seoul so in case of an emergency, they could always find him. This definitely qualified as an emergency.
They stopped in front of the main door. Jimin reached to ring on the doorbell, but Taehyung had a chilling thought. What if he thought Taehyung was a ghost? He wasn't picking up their calls–who knew what condition he was in?
"Wait," he whispered just as Jimin was pressing the doorbell.
"What?"
"Before Jungkook...yeah...I tried to talk to him. He was drunk, but he thought I was...a ghost. I don't think J-Hope would be too excited to see me after all this time thinking I'm dead."
Jimin slowly nodded, then had an Idea. "I could walk in, convince him that you're alive. In the meantime, you can wait here. I can call you, and you can come out."
"Okay."
Jimin rang the doorbell again, and Taehyung walked around to the front of the house.
No one answered the door.
Jimin knocked on the door, but it swung open.
"Ho...Hobi?" He called out.
No answer. Then he heard a crash.
He walked slowly into the house, wincing when his foot touched a creaky part of the wooden floor. He walked a few more paces, then saw J-Hope.
He was curled into a ball on the ground, sobbing. Around him were broken bottles.
Jimin touched J-Hope's arm gently. "Hobi?"
J-Hope sprang up, startling Jimin. He backed up, hitting a wall behind him. J-Hope looked at him with those same blank eyes Jungkook had.
Jungkook...
Keep it down, he told himself. Don't cry in front of Hobi.
J-Hope's eyes cleared, and he whispered. "Jimin?"
Jimin nodded. "Hobi, I need to-"
J-Hope looked down, talking to himself. "Still alive?" Then he looked up. "You're alive?"
"What?"
J-Hope shook his head slowly. "No, no, no...It was..." Then he gasped. "Tae-" Without warning, he started sobbing again.
Jimin was confused. J-Hope usually didn't act this strange. "Hobi-"
J-Hope looked up. "He's DEAD, he's dead, dead, dead!"
"What? No! Taehyung's still alive! Really!"
"Don't give me any false hopes. He's dead. And no, he's not 'alive in our hearts', either."
Jimin grabbed J-Hope's hand. "J-Hope! He's alive! He's ou-"
"Stop!" With that, J-Hope grabbed Jimin's wrist and bent it behind his back. Jimin was thrown forward, not expecting that. "What are you doing?" he sputtered.
J-Hope reached into his pocket and brought out a silver metal chain-like thing. Jimin wrenched his arm out of J-Hope's grasp, stumbling forward. He turned to look at J-Hope. "Are you crazy? What's gotten into you?!"
J-Hope turned and looked at the cabinet where he stored his pills for his narcolepsy. Instantly Jimin knew what he was about to do. He reached forward and grabbed his arm again. "Don't overdose!" he yelled. "Don't! He's still-"
J-Hope turned back around and punched Jimin's jaw. Jimin stumbled backwards, blinded. He tripped over a chair and fell on his back. He dimly felt his arm raised up, then a cool metal-like thing wrapped around his wrist. Jimin shook his head, then sat up and saw that J-Hope had handcuffed him to the table leg.
"No!" Jimin tugged at his arm, then turned and screamed at J-Hope who was opening the cabinet. "No, J-Hope! No!"
Outside, Taehyung was completely unaware of what was going on. He was wondering why Jimin was taking so long. Then he heard a crash, and Jimin screaming. Something had gone wrong. He decided to go find out, and shrugged off the worries. If J-Hope thought he was a ghost, so be it. Hopefully he wasn't drunk. Then Taehyung could explain.
Taehyung went inside and heard another door open and close. Puzzled, he walked in the direction of the sound. He came to a room which was a mess. Chairs were tossed all over the place, broken glass littered the ground, and a cabinet had opened and an empty plastic container was open on the ground.
"Taehyung!"
Taehyung whipped around to see Jimin sitting on the ground next to a table. "What are you doing? Where's J-Hope?"
Jimin raised his left hand in response. It had been handcuffed to the table.
"Shoot," Taehyung muttered. He found a piece of glass that could work as a pick-Namjoon had taught him how to pick handcuffs, just in case-and the hancuff snapped open.
Jimin sprang up and ran down a hallway.
"Where are you going? Where's J-Hope?" Taehyung asked again as he followed him down the hallway to an open door.
Jimin opened the door, then ran in the direction of the Banpo Bridge. "Follow me."
