Chapter Two

“It was there! I swear!!!” Nikki exclaimed to Elijah. “There was a shadow!!”
        “I know. I sensed it also” Elijah told Nikki.
        “Yeah.. and it’s following us” Nikki whispered. There was an arrow that was coming to them and Elijah caught it and boomeranged it back.
        “Who goes there?” Elijah asked. There was no answer.  Elijah walked to the tree.
“Watch out!” Nikki warned Elijah ,seeing a figure on the tree. Elijah looked up but it was too late. The figure jumped down and landed on Elijah, leaving his bag unattended.
“Move and his head will be off” the guy said.  Nikki froze then smirked.
“I don't need to” Nikki smiled and sat down.   
“Y-Y-You don’t care?” he asked, suddenly startled.
“Hiii yah” Elijah called as he kicked the man. Nikki quickly ran and held the boy down.
“A rope, a gun, a lot of arrows that say ‘Duncan’ on them, and an axe?” Elijah asked as he inspected the bag.
“Use the rope to tie him down” Nikki informed.
The boy woke up to two figures in front of him. Their eyes held a murderous glare.
“Who are you?” Elijah asked. The boy closed his eyes.
“Answer us, boy, or else..” Nikki warned.
“U-Ummm. I am Duncan” Duncan answered Elijah, scared for his life.
“Why are you here?” Nikki asked.
“I don’t know!!” Duncan exclaimed, fakely.
After Duncan answered all of their questions, with a warning,  they let him go.
“So it is them..” Elijah concluded.
“Should we go back and warn the others?” Nikki asked Elijah. He nodded his head.

“I guess we should go” Alyssa cheerfully exclaimed, fully recovered from the embarrassment . When she reached for the handle, an arrow came and shot her in the shoulder. She fell back startled. Jack had left earlier because he didn’t want to be a distraction for them. Joshua looked around frantically. Connor caught Alyssa before she fell down and laid her on a sleeping sheet that he and the others had stole from the nurse's office.
“IT'S ALL THEIR FAULT” Joshua screamed.
“Who?” asked Scarlett.
“NIKKI’S AND ELIJAH’S!” Joshua shouted.
“Why would you say that?” Connor asked.
“Stop blaming it on them…..” Alyssa  whispered to Joshua, before passing out.
Just then, two figures were approaching their base.
“Guys we are being targeted” Elijah called and then saw the condition that Nikki was in. Scarlet let them in, still not convinced  that it was them. Once Elijah and Nikki were inside, Joshua threw a punch at Elijah.
“Why did you do that?” Joshua cried, sinking to his knees.
“What?” Elijah asked, holding his cheeks.
“You shot Alyssa !!!” Joshua yelled.
“Why would we shoot our own friends ?” Nikki asked for Elijah.
“Prove that it wasn’t you. Show us that bag!” Joshua yelled, noticing the black bag that Nikki was holding onto. Nikki shrugged before handing the bag to him.
“Hey Cassandra! Pull out the arrow and sees if it says anything!” Joshua commanded to Cassandra.
They saw Cassandra pulling out the arrow.
“It says, Martin!!” Cassandra called to him. Joshua looked at the arrow. It said “Duncan”.
“We will be keeping a close eye on you” Joshua growled to the two.
“Don’t be. We are leaving again once Alyssa is healed” Elijah growled to Joshua.
“Joshua! She isn’t that hurt.She’s only sick. Her shoulder was only shot by an arrow” Bianca yelled to Joshua.
“You are lucky. And we are keeping this”Joshua whispered to Elijah and glared at both of them. Nikki let a sad face slip out but it was protected by a straight face.
That night, Elijah and Nikki decided to leave early.
“Bye Nikki.” Elijah whispered before giving a quick peck on her lips. Nikki turned around facing the wall.  They were about to go until Nikki whispered something. Elijah turned around.
“Don’t go!” Alyssa  whispered.Elijah walked towards Alyssa.  When Elijah was close enough, Alyssa grabbed Elijah’s school tie and pulled him down to her level and gave a long kiss. Nikki pulled out her phone and took a lot of pictures, not caring about their privacy.  When Alyssa had let go, they were both red. Like blood red.
“Awww”.
“I should get going now, Alyssa ” Elijah told her.
“Promise me you won’t die, Elijah.” Alyssa  murmured , holding out her pinky.
“I promise!” Elijah conforted .
They walked out the door and Alyssa  closed it for them since she was feeling better.
“I love you.” Elijah whispered.
“I love you too.” Alyssa  whispered back. The siblings walked away leaving Alyssa  to look at their disappearing figure.
