Decay With Wings

Decay With Wings

Jeremiah Green was a man of almost simple needs. All he needed now, was the last humans in hopes in reviving their species. Not that he was one himself, because that was simply not the case. The truth was, Jeremiah was a very curious creature.

Chapter One

The forest was nearly silent, the only sounds were the wind whistling through branches and frogs croaking in the distance. A piercing gaze shot through the brush. Bright, luminous eyes watched every sway of the tree limbs, all of their surroundings. Dry leaves crackled under their heavy boots as they stepped forward. The gleam of the moon shone against their black scales. Soon, another pair of eyes joined them, however, their figure was much smaller and they seemed nervous. "Green, you said they'd be here." the shorter figure hissed out. They sounded feminine and impatient. "Patience is a virtue, Loren." Green spoke, his voice deep and cool, calm and commanding. Green was standing tall, his yellow eyes keeping watch on the path that laid in front of them
Loren was about to retaliate, but fell short upon hearing stomping of feet. They crushed branches under their thick, leather shoes, leaving imprints in the soil. Loren shivered, his thin tail flicking in anticipation. He moved closer to Green, his nervous eyes were wild with fright.
Each step closer towards them seemed to shake the Earth itself. Or maybe just scaring Loren to the point were he shivered in fright.
"Hush, Loren. They brought him." Green commanded, his voice stern and steady. He was calm, he wasn't afraid of these creatures that stood before him that were easily triple his height and many times his weight. Tusks jutted from their jaws, small patches of hair placed on their large head. The larger of the two held a thick rope.
The creatures that stood before him immediately dropped to one knee, kneeling before him "Kristin Hunter of Aberoth" the first one spoke, their tone smooth and relaxed. It seemed they knew what they were doing and had done so many times. "Erin Hunter of Aberoth" the second said, very quietly, his lips trembling. They must have been the formers apprentice. He trembled in anxiety, his eyes darting from each person their.
"Do you have the human, Hunter?" Green questioned. "Yes, sir." they replied, pulling a rope forward. A tall, thin boy was tugged forward.
He had thick, bronze hair that fell in loose curls against the sides of his face and over his ears. Angry, gray eyes glared forward at Green. The thick ropes irritated his tan skin, leaving red marks, even some spots where the skin was rubbed to the point of bleeding. Green frowned at this, very irritated about the injuries on the human, but said nothing.
"Hand him over." Green ordered, his voice stern. He stretched his scaled arm out, his palm upwards. His claws shone in the light of the moon. His yellow eyes bore into the human's.
The monsterous, elephant mutants roughly gave the reptilian the rope. Green wrapped his fingers around the rope and gently pulled the boy forward, trying to keep anymore injuries to a minimum. "Dismissed, Hunter. You may leave."
