Ben Plays KartRacers
Someone pawed at her side. She woke up, and curled into a ball. She jumped, and EJ held her down. "You okay?" She nodded. Ruby gave her the innocent eyes. She let her. "Darn. Yeah. Ruby pawed at my side." Ruby curled up and slept in Rose's arms. Rose grabbed her, and put her own the other side of the bed. She could breathe better, but she still had to focus a bit. EJ got up. "You sure?" He put his mask on. She tried to get up, but her side didn't want to. She gasped, and fell down. EJ walked out without saying goodbye. Ben came back with two DS's. Rose looked at him, and he jumped at the foot of the bed."May I?" She nodded, and he got comfortable. She turned it on, and a game called KartRacers came on. Ben disappeared. He came up on her screen, without affecting the game. Rose dropped it. Ben called, "It's okay, it's just me!" She posted it up, and started a new game. Sooner or later, they got a game started. Ben was actually in the game, while Rose stayed with the original controls.
She started to race, but something stopped her. She paused the game. "Ben, no jumpscares. No crashing the game when I win. Okay?" Ben sighed. "Fine..." She started it again, and they kept going. Ben won the first round, but neither were that excited. Rose wasn't going to win. She started a different track, and she was almost going to win, but Ben just raced in front of her. She groaned, and smiled. "Next time!" Ben laughed. "Yeah, right." She tried a new track, but Ben won by a mile. Or rather, a whole lap.
It was hard to rotate when you had a speed boost. Ben laughed. "Nice try, Rose. Really! I know, the first time, it was hard to steer." She smiled. "Really?" "Yep." Ben agreed. They played for another half-hour, and Rose only won about three times. Not counting the time Ben cheated. He left, and she laid down. It only took a minute before Rose started to fall asleep, but someone knocked on the door.
Broken came in. She looked down. Rose sat on the edge of the bed. Broken hugged her. "You feeling okay?" Rose nodded. "Ben played with me for a while. We played KartRacers." Broken smiled. "Sounds fun!" Rose nodded. "I would play with you, but Ben took the DS's. They were dying, anyway."
