Chapter 2

Noah sat down writing down information about Layla. Then he went to get answers from the second victim’s father Greg.

“So, you last saw your stepdaughter at breakfast time which was 6:00? “

“Yes sir” Greg replied

“Okay, why would she leave the house?” Noah looked at him

“She did a job for her mother who was sick at the time and didn’t want to go and get more sicker “he protested. “Hey, I’m trying to find out who killed Daisy okay? Chill I’m not the type to accuse someone unless I have actual evidence against them “stated Noah. Greg sighed and nodded “I’m sorry it’s just been hard ever since Daisy died you know? She had an entire life ahead and someone had to take it away from her. I want you to find who did this to Daisy, to those girls. They need to be stopped “Greg begged wiping a few tears away that had come to eyes. “I’m working on it, but it isn’t easy, no one seemed to anyone with those murder victims at the time of the murders. “he sighed “The only DNA evidence that was found was a footprint, but the investigators couldn’t find anything else involved with DNA. Anyways, do you what Daisy was going to do for her mother?” Noah questioned him. After all the questions Noah only found out that Daisy had been going to get some medicine for her mother but had never made it to the store. Noah rushed home to his board to update it, Noah’s next step was to check footage from the store or nearby buildings to see if anyone was near the store and could’ve snatched Daisy. Noah needed to find the murder before the persons kills another innocent person. Noah went back to school because he knew Cindy had practice, so he waited until track practice was over. Cindy came soon afterwards and looked confused seeing Noah there.

“Noah what are you doing here “Cindy asked walking to him.

Noah looked at her “When was the last time you saw Layla? “Noah questioned her without answering her question before hand.

“Noah I’ve last seen Layla was the day she went missing. “Cindy replied

“Well did you see anyone who looked at her or followed her when she was leaving?” Noah remarked

“I did see Hunter Ward follow her right before she went missing “Cindy stated
Noah smiled and jumped up because he had two leads! More than the police ever had so he was excited and was a step closer to finding the murder. He patted her back “I need you to tell me what you saw or what he looked like “Noah cheered as Cindy wrote down what he looked like and had gotten a picture. Noah smiled “Thank you Cindy!” Noah hugged her then left to his house. Noah left quietly and updated his board, now all he had to do was get his parents to interrogate the leads but first he needed to find them.

Noah sighed quietly as he walked looking at his evidence in his notebook and noticed he had seen this Hunter Ward before which was at school. What didn’t make sense to Noah was that Hunter was no longer a student at Snowdawn. He had been looking for weeks to where Hunter is, but nothing was found. Noah had gotten close a few times, but it always ended up being a dead end at every lead. Noah knew this wouldn’t be easy. He knew that the girls who were killed needed him to bring them justice. Noah sighed sucking up his pride and went to his father for help. “Dad, I need your help. “Noah whimpered scared that his father would think he was just a weak, idiot, high school boy who thought that he could handle the stress. His father looked at him and smiled “What do you need help with Noah?” His father cheered happy to see his son so passionate about something. “Dad, there is this guy named Hunter Ward and I’ve been looking everywhere for him and all it leads to is a dead end” Noah sighed quietly knowing that finding the killer would be a problem. He sighed quietly “ I need you and mom’s help to find him . Plus, I cant interrogate him because I’m just a minor and he’s older than me. He’s two years older than me “ Noah mumbled quietly being kinda of upset knowing he couldn’t do anything about this. His father looked at him and smiled “ Okay, where was he last seen at? We will start there again and try to find him personally the interrogate him. “ his father replied.  Noah nodded and went to his room to update his board and realize that one of the murders was his own sister, Alison, who was the fourth victim. He needed to find who did this. He had to. Noah sighed quietly “ Don’t worry sister I’ll find them , I promise you. “ Noah cried a bit after he had updated his board. His room was a bit messy, with blue walls, a huge bed with a bookcase and a window which was all Noah wanted. His sister used to promise to protect him since she was two years older than Noah . Noah sighed at this remembering that all at once. Noah went back outside not to find evidence, but to calm himself down a bit . Noah looked around and saw a guy who matched the Hunter’s boy characterization and Noah pulled out his phone to call his father but the boy had looked at him and slabbed his phone out of his hands. Noah looked scared a bit after the boy did that. The boy walked closer to Noah then looked at him .

“ So you’re the boy who wants to find the murders of those girls. Well too bad” Hunter laughed and grabbed Noah’s brown locks and threw him on the ground with ease. Noah coughed quietly when he got the ground the way he did . Hunter smirked . Hunter picked Noah up and tried to choke him but didn’t and just threw him under the water. Hunter soon took Noah’s jacket and wrapped it around his head then had ribbed Noah’s sweater to make him freeze . Once Hunter was done he left leaving Noah in the cold with no coat with a ripped sweater. Noah tried badly to get his jacket off of him but failed to do so. Noah was found unconscious, cold , bruised, and wet. When Noah’s parents was told they thought he had died . His father took on the investigation himself until Noah was recovered. Noah had caught the flu because of Hunter, he remembered people saying how he used to be a hero when he was in high school but where is that same guy now ? Noah sighed ended up in a coughing fit hearing his mother come up the stairs. “ Oh Noah, why didn’t you call me or your father ?” His mother sounded hurt.”Mom, I tried to call dad but that boy named Hunter had slapped it out of my hands .” Noah whispered since his throat had been hurting him . He heard his mother sigh a bit “Noah, your father and I love you very much. You need to try not to get in so much danger. “ his mother scowled Noah growled a bit then coughed “ Mom ! You guys are in more danger than I would. You guys risk your lives to put away the bad guys . “ Noah barked looking away and geared up then covered up. His mother looked away from him “ Noa-“ she frowned and got up leaving the room realizing he was right about what he had said. She knew that he would do anything to solve these cases.

After a few hours his father returned from work “ How’s Noah? “ he asked his wife and she didn’t say anything. “ Go talk to Noah. He has a point “ she whispered while cooking dinner . Noah’s father sighed walking up to Noah’s room and knocked. Noah groaned but told him to come in. “ Hey, I heard you said something to momma” he whispered knowing not to be too loud. Noah nodded “ Yeah , mom told me not to go into so much danger. I simply stated that you and mom both go into more danger than I do” Noah replied quietly . His father looked at him serious “ Noah you have a point but that doesn’t mean what your investigating aren’t dangerous “ his father stated frustrated at him . “ Hunter Ward had been found and taken into custody , we can only have him right now for assault and attempted murder “ his father whispered again “ We could’ve lost you Noah..How do you think your mother and I would feel? “ he yelled getting up.  Noah got up coughing getting dressed and went outside despite his mother’s plea asking for him to stay inside but he didn’t listen. Noah knew when his parents was sick or hurt that they didn’t stop so that is what he did. Noah knew that this wasn’t going to be easy . His parents didn’t take breaks , they missed his birthdays, missed Christmas, every holiday , Noah knew they was busy so he didn’t mind . Noah ran where he was attacked and walked to the police station and sat down waiting knowing that his parents would come soon wanting to find him.
