The Dream
Scourge dug his claws into Ash's pelt. Dark, crimson blood flowed out of the fresh claw-mark. Ash could hear Scourge's happiness in his insane laugh, and that made Ash happy."Now you're mine forever!" Scourge yelled in lunacy. "I can keep you with me and I will love you forever!"
Ash just stared at the beautiful monster Scourge had become. His eyes blazed with intense fervor.
"Say it to me, tell me you love me," Scourge commanded, once again in lunacy.
"I love you, Scourge. I really do," Ash took a final breath before collapsing in a heap of blood and fur.
---------------
Ash woke up heavily breathing, and Scourge, sitting over him, looked at him.
"Tell me your nightmare," Scourge demanded. "I've never seen someone so involved in their dreams."
"I can't," Ash gasped since he was still recovering from the dream. "It's embarrassing."
"Still, you must tell me if you want to stay," Scourge pushed. "The first dream you have here is the one that determines your life here. If you don't tell me the truth, you will be removed form this clan."
"Fine, but you can't be upset," Ash meowed and then told his whole dream to Scourge. Every detail was like a knife to the chest for him to say. Scourge stared intently into Ash's eyes until he was done speaking.
"Come with me right now," Scourge said trying to stay calm. "Bone! Watch the clan while I'm gone. I need to talk to Ash in private."
Scourge's tail flicked as a sign to follow him. They walked for a while until they were in a rocky area that Ash had never seen before.
"You aren't a normal cat. I'm afraid to say that you saw the future in your dream. If you really love me, it's very dangerous and you should stop right now. I'm not a safe cat, and I probably will kill more cats than just you. I'm just worried about yo-" Scourge was cut off as Ash gently clamped his muzzle shut with his jaws. Ash then unclasped them and said, "I'm not afraid of you at all, and even if you do kill me, I'm willing to take that risk."
"I'm not," Scourge quietly meowed. "You're going to get hurt and I don't want to be the wolf that kills the rabbit. IN this situation, you're the rabbit and I'm the sharp-clawed wolf. I've killed before, but I don't want to kill you."
"Maybe I can help you change. You can still kill others, but I could help you keep your sanity," Ash mewed excitedly.
"Okay, you can try. Let's head back now," Scourge said and then ran his tail down Ash's spine.
