Dancing with a troll
Karkat was sitting on his bed reading a book that Rose had suggested. It was called 'Pride & Prejudice' by Jane Austen.Suddenly his door burst open, revealing Dave dramatically walking in. "Get up! We're going places today!"
Karkat paid no attention to Dave. He was to into his book. He eagerly waiting to find out what happened next!
"Ok, I know you can see me," Dave said, grabbing the book from Karkat's hands and holding it out of reach.
"Hey, you piece of shit, give that back!"
Karkat got up and tried to grab the book out of Dave's hand.
"But we have things to do! No time for boring reading!"
"Why are you so tall!" Karkat complained
"And the book is not boring...its very good!"
Dave grinned, stretching even higher. "Stop trying to reach it. You know you can't,"
"Ugh, I hate you!" Karkat said sitting back down on his bed pouting.
"Where the hell are we going you maggot!" He said crossing his arms.
"Ok first of all, you don't hate me. Second of all, I'm not exactly sure. I was bored. We'll find something," Dave grinned triumphantly, happy to have won.
"Just, give me my book back!"
"David strider! Give the damn book!" Karkat exclaimed
"But then you'd go back to reading it. Instead of paying attention to me."
" I don't know why you are so persistent!"
"Can you please just pick SOMETHING for us to do or just leave!"
"No one else will talk to me...and ok, I'll pick something," Dave grinned, jumping forward, grabbing Karkat's wrist, and pulling him off the bed.
"W-what the hell ! Get off of me!" Karkat growled.
Dave tossed the book behind him, smirking slightly. "I'm picking something for us to do...that is what you wanted, isn't it?"
"I meant...like...watching a movie or going somewhere...!"
"And what the hell are we doing!"
"I don't know...do you know how to dance?" Dave asked nonchalantly.
"...W-what's dancing?"
Karkat looked puzzled and was curious about this human thing.
"It's...well, actually, it's easier to just show you," Dave replied, tugging Karkat toward him by the wrist.
"What do I do with my hands?"
Karkat asked
"On my shoulders, and mine go on your waist," Dave answered, moving as he spoke.
"WHAT! Your waist... No! I will not!"
Karkat protested
Dave rolled his eyes, lacing the fingers on Karkat's right hand with his own, and putting his left hand on Karkat's waist. "Why not?"
"B-because, I...i... Ugh... Fine!" Karkat placed his hand on Dave's waist and blushed.
"Aww...you're so f***ing cute," Dave laughed.
"....how do you dance...?"
"Well, we're gonna need music."
"Oh, I got some music on my phone...it's really...no...never mind...you wouldn't like it. You would say it is cheese or something."
"It probably is cheesy...go turn it on," Dave replied, laughing.
Karkat quickly let go and went to his table. He turned on some ballroom music.
Dave nodded enthusiastically. "That's exactly what we need! Except...dude, why do you have ballroom music on your phone?"
"Oh, Rose sent it to me...sometimes I put it on while I read. "
"Your such a girl, KK! Anyway, place your hand on my waist on the other on my shoulder. " Dave smiled
"Shut up, Elizabeth!" Karkat tried his hardest not to laugh.
"Didn't I tell you not to call me that?" Dave said, faking anger. He couldn't hold back his grin for long though.
"You know I don't listen!" Karkat snapped.
Dave laughed, spinning Karkat around in time to the music.
"What...I don't understand! How do I move my feet! UGH, THIS IS SO CONFUSING!" Karkat shouted.
"You're thinking too much...you just have to sort of move along with the music and me."
"You humans dance every weirdly! The way be dance with each other is very different!"
"How do you dance...?" Dave asked, raising an eyebrow.
"We put both and on each other's waist and then move your feet in a circle."
"We humans can do that too...but I think this is more fun," Dave replied, swinging Karkat around and dipping him almost to the floor.
"Dave!" Karkat panicked. He held tight of Dave's shirt, making sure that he wouldn't fall.
"I'm not gonna let you fall," Dave said, grinning widely.
"I am kind of...like this way better...except for this part!" Karkat said almost smiling.
"See? I told you you'd have fun," Dave said, swinging Karkat back up to his feet and twirling him.
"Dave...I am still kind of confused what to do with my feet. " Karkat Stepped forward and accidentally stepped on Dave's foot.
"Ow," Dave said pointedly. "Mostly just follow mine. "We're going in the same direction."
"Alright...I'm sorry...dose it hurt...your foot?" Karkat asked kind of concerned.
"No...I'm fine," Dave replied, shaking his head and smiling.
Karkat tried not to look at his feet but, he didn't want to step on his toe again.
"You can look down if it helps," Dave said, noticing Karkat's discomfort.
"No, I'm fine!" He starred at Dave right in the eyes.
"You sure?" Dave asked, smiling a little.
"I am fine." Karkat said looking away.
Dave laughed, gripping Karkat a little tighter around the waist.
"Oh,well then..." Karkat said laying his head on Dave's shoulder and moving his hand down from his back.
Dave smiled a little, then moved his other hand from Karkat's shoulder to around his waist.
Karkat tried not to blush but failed epically. "Dave...?"
"Hmm..?" Dave asked, gaze snapping back to Karkat from where he had been staring off into the distance.
"I...I have feelings for you...I don't know exactly what quadrant it is...red, Pail, black...I don't know...!"
"Aww, you actually care about me...?" Dave asked, trying to hide his surprise.
"Shut up!" Karkat said taking his head off of Dave's shoulder.
Dave just smirked, watching Karkat slowly get redder and redder.
"D-do you not except my feelings!" Karkat said letting go of Dave's back. He slowly walked way waiting for an answer.
"I didn't say that...I'm just surprised. I thought you hated me," Dave answered, twirling a stray lock of his bleach blonde hair between his fingers.
"I do...but...it's confusing! One moment I feel black...the other...red...and sometimes in between!" Karkat couldn't make up his mind...was he in love with a human?
"Yeah, well, that's what feelings are. Really f***ing confusing," Dave replied, grinning.
"You got that right!" Karkat smiled and then frowned. He signed and feel back onto his bed.
"Ugh, I hate troll puberty!" He dug his face into a pillow.
