Chapter 8: Clara (Part 2)

She slips the knot into a pocket that holds the strands away from the back. “Omg! It's almost a perfect fit!” Bethany says smiling and stepping back. I look in the mirror that was hanging on my door. It looks amazing.
        “Yeah but it needs to be loosened on the side down by my thighs. I can barely walk!” I say attempting to walk, but I end up falling flat on my face.
        “Everything okay up there!” Percy shouts. He ran to the bottom of the stairs.
        “Everything's fine, but you are going to die when you see how gorgeous she looks in this dress!” Bethany shouts out my door. She squeals and gets back to work. “We don't have to loosen anything! If you walk with your thighs just a little closer together, you have plenty of room to walk. Let's practice just a little because I invited Jason to come with us. It's gonna be a double date, but it's also a competition to see who is going to be the sweetest couple. We are going to have mini-cameras in our hair, just slightly peaking out. They are totally unnoticeable so we will look just as pretty. The boys are going to have mini cameras in their suit pockets. Those are totally unnoticeable as well. The prizes are epic too. Everyone is judged separately for their etiquette, the girls, us, are competing against each other for most beautiful and most graceful, the guys are competing for most like a gentleman and we are all going to be trying for sweetest couple. What do you think? We can put it up on a team channel so people can find each point of view easier! The thing is, we kinda have to come up with a team name.” Bethany says, as she goes to the duffle bag and pulls out another dress.
        This dress was a sky blue chiffon, with white lace trim on the bottom. How is it that we both have the same color dress. Well, mine's royal blue, so it'll be okay. Her dress was low to the ground, but not completely touching it like mine did. Bethany took off her clothes and I help her into her dress. The bodice fit perfectly on top. Strapless, but perfect.
        “Omg! Gorgeous! You have to go show Percy. He can't see me, but can see you” I say pushing her out the door. She walks down the stairs and I hear Percy standing up. I walk to the railing.
        “What do ya think?” Bethany says.
        “Nice, but I wish I could see Clara.” Percy says as I think he sits down.
        “Do you think Jason will like it?” Bethany asks with frustration.
        “Yeah. I think he'll like it.” Percy says going back to his game. Bethany walks right on back up the stairs. “Alright. I think we are all set here.” Bethany says taking off her dress and changing into a pair of pajama pants and a cotton tank top. Bethany then undid the corset and let me out of my dress. I put on my pajamas again and we walked downstairs. Percy stood up, he was wearing a pair of flannel lounge pants and a tee-shirt.
        “So, how did you like the dress?” Percy asks putting his hands in his pockets.
        “It was magnificent. I can never thank you or repay you enough.” I say giving him a hug.
        “I know a way.” He says blushing.
        “Oh... that way.” I say. I lean in and give him a soft little kiss on his cheek.
        “No, here.” Percy leans in and gives me another kiss on my lips. I break away and smile.
        “Can't wait for you to see how the dress fits. It is absolutely perfect.” I say still smiling.
        “I hoped it would. Is the color right?” he asks leading me to the sofa. We sit down, his arms around me almost make me fall asleep.
        “Absolutely perfect in every way. Even the beading. I don't understand why anyone would want to sell it.” I say putting my hands on his chest and turning to face him.
        “Sometimes people just don't see true beauty.” He says putting a loose strand of hair behind my ear.
        “Not just the best boyfriend a girl could ask for, but also the sweetest.” I say giving him a hug. He holds me even tighter. Bethany gives us a blanket and Percy spreads it over us. I close my eyes and feel Percy loosening up. I begin to feel numb and fall asleep in the comfort that Percy gives me.
