Libby's crush
(The picture is of Libby)LIBBY'S POV
(Flashback 5 years before)
"Libby! Come say hi to the guests!" My mom called. I ran down stairs, my long hair flying behind me. "Hello!" I said as my mom's best friend and her husband walked into the house. Then, I saw a boy, about my age walk in. "This is our son! He's your age!" My mom's friend exclaimed. "Hi! My name's Jared!" The blue eyed, brown haired boy said. "Um. Hi! I'm Libby!" I exclaimed. I was only ten, but I think that was the first time I've EVER had a crush. He was funny, nice, and. I really liked him.
(2 years later)
Jared and his family had come to our house many times. They where very good family friends. Every time Jared came now, he was different. He had let his brown hair fall in front of his left eye a bit, he talked about school, and books, and friends now. Yet, he never stopped hanging out with me. We where great friends. This visit was different though. I wanted to tell him I liked him. I know you're thinking: "NO LIBBY DON'T!" But It was time. After talking for a long time, we went downstairs for a while. "Jared! Come on we have to go!" Said his dad. "Why so early dad?" Asked Jared. "We have to go!" Repeated his father. "Libby, I really need to tell you something." Jared started. "JARED! IN THE CAR NOW!" His dad yelled. "Why!" Jared asked. "Because we're MOVING TOMORROW!" Yelled back his dad. "Now hurry!" Jared sighed. His mom led him out the door after saying goodbye to my parents. "Mom? Jared's moving?" I asked. "They made the announcement while you where upstairs." My mom pursed her lips. I nodded silently. Jared never got to tell me what he was going to say. And I never got to tell him what I had to say.
(Present time)
"Sweetheart! I made pancakes!" Exclaimed my mom who was in a strangely good mood. It's saturday! I remembered. I hopped out of bed and ran down stairs. "You will be getting a haircut soon!" My dad said as he walked into the kitchen. I sighed. "I love my long hair!" I exclaimed. My dad laughed. "It was only a joke!" He exclaimed. My mom and I exchanged the same look. "Dad jokes." We said at the same time. "ANYWAYS." My mom said. "Stacy's moving back to the community!" Squealed my mom. I remembered. Stacy was JARED'S MOM. "Jared's moving back?!" I exclaimed. I was almost as excited as my mom. "The family decided to move back here!" My mom continued. "After three years!" My dad laughed, placing his coffee mug on the quartz counter top. "Her son is going to go to your high school." My mom said. I smiled.
