Chapter Greenlight

I knock on the door of Michael's house. Twenty minutes ago, I received a message from Luke saying:

COME TO MIKEY'S IMMEDIATELY. WE HAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW YOU!!!!!!! ;) LOVE, LUKE & CAL <3

"If you're Lauren, come in!" Michael shouts. "If you're not Lauren, don't come in because you're probably selling some stupid rubbish I don't need!" I roll my eyes, and open the door. I walk into the room where I hear four teenage boys yelling over each other. I slip in silently and wait until they notice me. They do eventually.
"Lauren!" Luke exclaims. "Sit down!"
I sit on the couch obediently. "Michael, speak!" Luke commands. "Okay, so you remember Heartbreak Girl?" Michael asks. I nod. "We finished it!" Calum interrupts excitedly. "I was going to tell her!" Ashton says, and Calum sticks his tongue out at him. "Can I hear it?" I ask. "That's why we invited you over!" Luke grins. "Well, it was more of an order!" I laugh. "Before we start, we want to explain the meaning behind the song to you," Ashton says. "Okay," I nod. "Go on."
"I started writing it about you," Luke tells me. "It is actually about you." I blush. "Then Calum and Ashton started contributing to it about how they felt about you," Luke continues. "Well, it was really just Calum. He wrote the second verse. We both wrote the bridge before the second chorus. There's a line, 'And when the phone call finally ends, you say, "I'll call you tomorrow at ten." ' You probably know the meaning of that." I nod. I would always call Luke at ten in the morning at the weekend, waking him up.
"And I wrote the third verse," he finishes. "And, um, Lauren, it really shows how I felt about you all those years. And how you never realised." He smiles, and I do too.
Luke counts them in, and they start the song from the beginning.

The second they finish the song, Luke walks over to me and kisses me. "Can I call you Heartbreak Girl?" he asks. "Of course you can, Penguin Boy," I reply.

And that's our story. A tale of an unbreakable friendship, accidental friend-zoning, and unrequited love that turned out to be mutual.
