When I enter the classroom of art, my teacher stares at me, annoyed.
"You're late" The teacher says strictly.
"Sorry" I say.
"Sit down" She tells me. I hurry to my seat and catch up with what we were working on in the class. After that class, and then was math, then it was lunchtime. I catch up with Arianna in the lunchroom. She sits across from me.
"I don't think I like it here..." I say.
"Why not?" She asks.
"The teachers are strict, the classes are boring, a bunch of the other girls are pretty rude to me" I say.
"I know you don't like it now, but hopefully you will get used to it and start liking it here" She says.
"Maybe" I say. I still don't think I like it here....
Alison walks over to our table again. I growl, trying to threaten her to go away.
"Hey Maddie, you hurt me and my friend earlier. You're gonna pay" She snarls.
"You hurt Arianna too yesterday" I growl, checking Arianna's face. She has visible bruising on her eye.
"So? Who cares about Arianna anyways?" She snickers. I stand up and turned to her.
"If you don't want your ass kicked again, I suggest you go away now" I threaten. She was shocked at first, then smiled.
"You don't scare me" She sneers.
"I'm warning you, leave now, before this get's ugly" I glare. Most of the other girls just watch us threaten each other.
"Maddie stop" Arianna whispers. I look over at her, then make my attention back on Alison.
"Step away Alison" I growl. She grabs my shirt collar and pulls me closer to her.
"I'm warning you" I snarl. "I don't ant to hurt you" I warn. She pulls harder on my collar, making me choke a bit. I slap her face and throw her down to the floor. Everyone gasps and stares. Some of the teachers hurry towards us. Arianna runs over, trying to pull me off, but I don't get up.
"I was warning you" I say roughly, then punching her in the face, making her cheek bruise. A teacher runs over to me and pulls me away, gripping my arm tightly and bringing me to the headmistress's office. The teacher shoves me in.
"Whats going on?" Asks Ms. Perison, in concern.
"Ms Maddox tried to fight with Ms Larin" the teacher grouches. She sits me down in a seat, then the teacher leaves.
"What happened?" Ms. Perison says hoarsely, sitting down behind her desk.
"It was only self-defense..." I try to say.
"Alright, but what actually happened?" She asks.
"She was threatening me, then started choking me, so I pushed her away, I punched her" I say quietly.
"Why?"
"She was choking me Ms Perison! It was self defense!" I shout.
"Alright, alright, don't shout.  I guess I won't get you in trouble... But you must keep your distance from Alison" Ms Persion says strictly.
"But she's the one who walks up to me and threatens me!" I yell.
"I will have a talk with her, okay Maddie?" She says.
"I don't like it here" I whine.
"Maddie, you only have been here a couple days, why don't you try to stay a little longer, maybe just to get used to it here" She says.
"I want to go home" I say quietly. She pushes a phone to me.
"Call your dad and tell him you want to leave" She says.
"I... I called Dad last night, he wants me to stay here longer" I say quietly.
"That answers that then; looks like you're staying for a while. Your excused, hurry to class now" she instructs. I quickly get up and walk out of her office and make my way to my next class.
I finished classes for the day, I worked hard, I tried to stay focused, and I didn't get into any arguments or fights either, which was good. I find it very odd how my moods is sorta off. I usually have random mood swings. One minute I'm happy and talkative, and the next minute I can go totally nuts and get really mad. I wish someone could explain to me why this really happens.
I meet up with Arianna after classes are over. We go to what is basically a living room, it has a t.v and couches and a few tables around. I guess you could call it more of a recreation room. We sit down on one of the couches and watch t.v. I'm really glad I have Arianna as a friend, but sometimes I wish I had more then one friend here. Dad and Ms Perison were somewhat right, I am getting a bit more used to it here, though I still don't actually like being here. A couple other girls entered the room, Arianna said hi, but they mostly ignored her. Arianna doesn't seem ot have many friends here either.
"How long have you been at this school?" I ask her.
"A couple months now" she replied.
"Why don't you seem to have any other friends except me?" I ask. She got real silent after I said that, she sighed, then told me something that sort of shocked me.
"I did have this one friend, but she died" she said quietly.
"How?" I ask. She sighs again.
"We don't really know. The teachers and the police think that she was poisoned. She might have drank something bad in chemistry while no one was looking, or something. No one knows the real truth" she explains.
"That's terrible... Do you have any idea why she did it?" I ask, trying not to offend her.
"I think she committed suicide. I don't know why, can we please end this conversation?" she says sadly. I nod and we just sit there in silence. I wonder why, why her friend committed suicide, I know it's none of my business, I just wonder. Was she depressed? Did someone actually murder her? I don't know, but it still makes me wonder...
