So Ms. Perison came into the room and handed me my schedule and asked me how I was doing. I told her I was fine, even though I'm basically not. I continue to hang on my laptop. I was on facebook, chatted to my brother Alex, telling him I did end up at this school. He told me he felt bad for me but I'll be okay.
I've only been at this school for a couple hours, and I already feel homesick. I sit on the edge on my bed and cover my face with my hands. A girl walks into the room and sees me. She walks over to me and sits next to me.
"Are you okay?" She asks sweetly. I don't look up.
"I'm Arianna Faxton. You're the new girl? What's your name?" She asks, putting her hand on my shoulder.
"Maddie Maddox" I sniffle, looking at her. Arianna looks a year younger than me, I'm sixteen, she looks fifteen to me.
"Nice to meet you, whats wrong, Maddie?" She asks.
"I'm just homesick, nervous of staying here" I sniffle, trying to wipe away my tears.
"You'll be okay Maddie. I promise. I have to go to class, but I'll talk to you later" she says and walks out. A woman comes into the room, sweeping the floors and making some beds. I stare at her, she ignores me and keeps on cleaning. I wait a little while, then Arianna comes and tells me it's dinnertime. I quietly follow her to the cafeteria. I don't grab any food, I just sit down quietly with Arianna. I sit silently, looking at the floor with my hands in my pockets.
"Maddie... Are you sure you're okay?" She asks. I nod.
"Made any friends here yet?" She asks.
"Just enemies" I say quietly.
"I'll be your friend" she smiles. I nod again. Everyone finishes dinner, then I go outside in the yard with Arianna. Its free time now. We go and sit at a bench outside near the back of the school. Arianna grabs my ribbon tie and pulls it a little tighter. I sit there silently, then Alison walks over to us, she's with her stupid friends.
"Hello Arianna, Maddie" she sneers.
"What do you want Alison?" Arianna snarls. Alison sneaks behind me and tugs my hair. I grab her hand and claw her hands.
"You're not allowed to make any friends" Alison snarls to me. I pull my head away and punch Alison in the face, giving her a nosebleed. Arianna gasps, so does Alison's friends. I look at Alison's face, then start running. Arianna starts chasing me. Alison goes inside with her friends, probably going to tell on me. I run down the driveway, Arianna catches up to me and throws her arms around me.
"Where are you going?!" She says in concern.
"I have to get out of here!" I scream, trying to get away from her grip, but she holds on. I calm down a little and stop moving and stand still.
"Whats going on? Why did you punch Alison? I know she was being rude, but that's a little much, don't you think?" Arianna scolds. I stare at her, then start running towards the school. I run right back into the bedroom and flop down on my bed. A couple girls were in there, they stared at me. I gave them a threatening glare, so they stopped looking at me. I stay in the bedroom, not doing anything.
Later, one of the teachers walk into the room and tell us to go to sleep. Arianna tells me to have sweet dreams. I sigh, putting on my pj's and laying down, shutting off my lamp and go to sleep.
The headmistress, Ms. Perison walks in and tells everyone to get up. I moan and roll over, trying to fall back asleep. Ms. Perison walks over to me and smacks my face hard.
"I told you, to get up" She says in a deathly tone. I shake my head and jump out of bed and change into my uniform. Then we had breakfast, after that, Ms. Perison caught up with me.
"Today's your first day, I'll walk you to your first class" Ms. Perison says. We walk through the halls and go to my first class, science. I sit down near the back. I sorta wish Arianna was in my class, I hope she's in some of my other classes.
"Hello class, we have a new student, Maddie. My name is Mrs. White. Welcome to class" the teacher said, then continues on with the lesson. I try my hardest to focus, but I had a horrible sleep last night, missing home, missing Dad, missing sleeping in my own bed. I fall asleep in class. The teacher walks over to my desk, slapping a ruler against the desk in front of my face.
"SLAP" I immediately wake up.
"Sorry! Sorry" I say, startled.
"It's your first day of you first class, Ms Maddox. If I'm boring you already, find a different classroom" Mrs White growls.
"Sorry... I'll pay attention" I say. After class was over, I went to art, I had Arianna in that class. Then Math, Arianna in that class too. Then English, no Arianna. Then History, no Arianna. That's how most days will go, but there's also a few side classes once in a while, such as physical ed and geography, and well, you get the point. After the classes were done, when we were supposed to have dinner, Ms. Perison stopped me and brought me to her office. Arianna waited outside the office for me, stalking the conversation.
"You punched Alison yesterday" Ms. Perison accused.
"I.... I didn't mean to" I say, shaky.
"What happened?" She glares.
"She was pulling my hair, and annoying me... I only punched her out of anger, from my disorder... I forgot to take my pills" I say, trying to sound not guilty.
"I'm going to let this one slide, but next time you hurt someone, there's going to be serious consequences" She threatens. I nod and get out of her office. Arianna says hi when I come out.
"Sorry for listening to your conversation, but what did you mean by 'pills'?" She asks innocently.
"Don't worry about it" I say hoarsely and we hurry to the cafeteria before dinner time is over. I don't want anyone to know about my disorder, that would probably cause a lot of bullying and trouble. I do not want that to happen again.
