Close Call and a Fall
We watch and listen in horror, as we listen to keys entering the keyhole."I'm just gonna get the broom!!" A man's voice shouts. Eli grabs my arm and clicks his fingers. The gold light dances around us, illuminating the room. The key is removed. I watch as the doorknob begins to turn. We're not out of here yet!! What are we going to do? If he sees us, we're toast!! The door starts to open.
"Hey, Geoff!" We hear. The door stops opening for a split second, turning my blood to ice. Fear surges through me, my heart is beating so fast it feels like it's going to burst out of my chest. The door begins to open again. No! Not yet!! I shut my eyes closed as fear consumes me.
I feel Eli let go of my arm, my eyes still closed.
"Steph," Eli calls.
"Is it... over?" I fall to the ground, overwhelmed with relief. I fall with a THUMP.
"Lord Pocheco!!" Someone screams. Tyler. "How could you let her fall?!" I hear his footsteps approach as I open my eyes.
"Rule 1," Eli states.
"There must be a rule about not harming your client as well," Tyler mutters. I feel a hand shake my shoulder.
"What?" I question.
"Are you alright?"
"Tyler, go away," I murmur.
"Harsh," Tyler states. I push myself off the ground and stand up.
"I'm fine,"
I sneak a glance at Eli. He has his arms crossed and shaking his head in disapproval.
"What?!" I ask.
"He was only trying to help," Eli explains. I sigh.
"Whatever,"
Tyler walks up to me as Eli sits a few meters away.
"He's changed since you got here, in these two days, he's become happier, you've changed him, don't make him break rule three, be careful," Then he walks away.
