Chapter 2
Twelve eager eyes set themselves on me. Six guns aim at my head. This is not the first time I've had to deal with this. For the first few times, fear would grip me by the heart and conquer. Now, adrenalin pumps through me, replacing all fear that once existed."Hello!" I chime, a mocking smile creeping across my face. I spread out my bat wings, ready to take off into the night.
"GO!" One of the men shouts, they fire simultaneously. I dodge every bullet with ease.
"C'mon, isn't this gun game getting a bit old?" I ask. I take a step towards them, baring my fangs, my grey skin glistening under the moonlight. "I'm sorry, but I have to go, same time tomorrow?" I mock, before flying off.
I have to deal with this everyday, so it's nothing, they find me, I spread my wings, they fire, I dodge, I mock them, I fly off. Every single time. I wish I could go into hiding, but they are everywhere. Up here, in the clouds, is the only place I'm safe, but I can't fly forever. Sometimes, I wonder, if there are more of me. More of my kind, but I know, it's just a fallacy. I am not accepted because I'm different, there is nothing I can do about it. I want to stop running, oh how much I do, but I'm afraid of what they'll do to me! My wings tense up as I force myself to land. I swear under my breath as I land ungracefully in a berry bush. Just great, now I smell like blueberries. As I stumble out I notice my surroundings, from the looks of it, it's an abandoned farm! I take my hair tie off my wrist and put my long black hair up in a tight bun, my fringe framing my face. I begin to brush the dirt and leaves off of my clothes and face.
(Sorry for short chapter, the rest I promise will be much longer!!)
