The missing person

I woke up, strapped to a metal bed type thing, I don't know. In whatever case I try to break free. Did it work? No...The room was dark, all I saw was a large...This above me with loads of...Other things coming off it with needles on them. I love it! NOT! I look around to see nothing...Then I see a light. Kate was there, slowly walking to me. "Oh Joshy, it could have been easy" She said slightly subjectively. "We could have ruled, but you had to be a stubborn little shit!" She told me, moving her face close to mine.
I turned my head away from her. "F*ck you..."
"Oh that's not nice" She said moving away. "Well guess it's the hard way then." I looked up at the needle thingy. It was coming down.

I woke up again, only on a sofa, clutching my EP pistol. Breathing heavily and looking around. Jackie was lying the over side of the sofa, so her feet were up by me. Then I saw Sally, she was holding a teddy and looking at me. "A-are you okay, J-Josh?" She said looking at me with her deep blues eyes.
"Yes Sally...Even adults have nightmares, sometimes they help you understand things though" I told her.
"Are you scared of sleeping? Because of the dreams?" She asked me.
"Yes, sweetie. Very" I smiled through it though.
Then out of nowhere. "Are you and Jackie ganna get married?"
I shot up, eyes widened and looking between Jackie and Sally. "We-Well-Well I mean it's..." Sally didn't break, she tilted her head and looked at me. "I mean...We should go!"
"Okay" Sally said, and she climbed up on the sofa and she started shaking Jackie. "Jackie! We need to go now!" I'll never understand this kid.
Jackie got up slowly. "What? It's what time? Oh wait time doesn't exists does it?"
"Morning babe" I said as I stood up.
"Morning Josh...Morning Sally" Jackie wasn't one for mornings.
"Hi!" Sally smiled. I lifted Sally up and held her against me.
"You've gone soft" Jackie laughed, getting up.
"Oh my god Jackie you're up, I only woke you up 30 seconds ago. No hour sleep in?" I teased.
"F*ck you" She growled.
I looked at Sally...It was striking me. "Sally, do you know where your mother is?"
"No, something about a 20 and a 3?" She tilted her head again.
I looked at her, only now that I wad in the slightly lighter darkness did I notice her brown hair and blue eyes. "23? Jackie do you have contact with Tim?"
"Only at base, why?" Jackie looked at me.
"Because I think I found a missing person...Sally, if it's the last thing I do I'll get you to your mother" I told her.
"Really?" She sounded excited.
"I promise" I paused. That word stung me hard. I looked at Jackie, she was looking down at the ground. "I-" I didn't say anything about it. We all walked to the door. We excited the building slowly and started walking down the road.

The route was tough, we were dodging robots left, right and center. But after about 3 hours we made it to the ally. Seeing Sapphire, Matt and Kate waiting. We all knelt against the wall. "Oh really Josh? A kid?" Sapphire asked.
"It's not mine I swear. But really we need this dealt with" I said to everyone. "Matt, Kate, you two know what to do right?"
"Yeah, we got it. What's the signal?" Kate asked.
""Fire" Plain and simple" I told them as they went up a set of stairs. "As for us? Here's what we're ganna do..."
