Chapter 4
“Amy, what do you think I should wear tomorrow?” I ask.“Well he likes you so nothing too flashy, it is just a smoothie date,” she says.
“Ok, I was thinking of maybe wearing this,” I say pointing at a simple sundress my mom bought me.
“Go put it on and we’ll see if it’s something he would like.”
I go put the dress on and when I come back out Amy says:
“Now lets do something with your hair since you have to wear that dress to meet Asher today, it’s perfect for a smoothie date.”
“Ok, I thinking of curling it and using my sparkly hairspray to keep it that way.”
“Sounds good, we only have an hour to make you look perfect and hold the sparkles, regular hairspray will be just fine,” says Amy.
A couple minutes later I’m ready to go and it’s 11:59, perfect timing! I walk out into the hall and see Asher in a white button up t-shirt, jeans and holding a bouquet of flowers.
“Hi,” I say.
“Hi, I got these for you,” he says handing me the flowers.
“Thanks,” I say as I give them to Amy to put them in a vase with some water.
“What kind of smoothie do you want?” asks Asher as we walk down the hallway.
“Strawberry please,” I say, “what are you getting?”
“Mango,” he says.
When we get to the smoothie place it takes forever to get our smoothies, the people in front of us order like ten, but the time in line and waiting for our smoothies has given us some time to talk and get to know each other. It turns out Asher has a dog named Champ and a cat named Nala. Now that we’ve finished our smoothies we are heading back to the school.
“Thanks for the smoothie,” I say.
“No problem,” he says.
“See you tomorrow?” I ask hopefully.
“Of course, noon work for you?”
“Yep.”
I go into my dormitory and see that Amy is still there.
“Guess what,” I say.
“What?” says Amy.
“I’m going on another date with Asher tomorrow!”
“Where?”
“I don’t know, it’s a mystery date and I already know what I’m gonna wear,” I say.
“What are you going to wear?” asks Amy.
“You’ll see,” I say.
This morning I wake up extremely early eat breakfast and get ready for the day or date I have coming up. I go to my drawers and get out blue and green striped skirt that goes down to two inches off the floor and a sky blue t-shirt. I put my hair in a high ponytail and put on a pair of white socks and black and white shoes. By the time twelve o’clock came I had already put more water in the vase that Amy put the flowers Asher gave me yesterday in and finished my reading for defense against the dark arts. Today Asher knocked on our door to pick me up for our date.
“Are you going to tell me where we are going?” I ask.
“Not yet, but I am going to put this blindfold on you so that you can’t tell where we are until we are inside, now turn around,” he says.
I turn around and he ties the blindfold around my eyes, turns me around and kisses me, I’m sure I’m going bright red, but I can’t see through this blindfold. He guides me somewhere and when he takes the blindfold off I realize we are in the field behind the school on a picnic blanket behind the statue of the first headmaster of this school. Asher puts down his picnic basket and we sit down. In the picnic basket there are ham sandwiches, several of my favorite types of cheeses, cookies and ice cream, all my favorites.
“How did you get all this food?” I ask.
“I asked the kitchen to put it together for me, I just had to tell them what I wanted and that it was for you and they did the rest. Everyone here loves you,” he says.
We sat and ate, we talked about what we might be able to expect for tomorrow’s training session and how we should try to set Amy up with Timmy since they’re perfect for each other.
Now we have to go back inside, it’s getting dark and we have to train in the morning. Before we go in as the sun’s setting Asher leans over and kisses me again, then we pack up and go to our dormitories.
When I get in my dormitory the first thing I see is Amy waiting for me.
“Where did you go?” she asks.
“We went for a picnic behind the statue of the first headmaster,” I say, “You should ask Timmy out.”
“Why?”
“I know you like him and it’s obvious he likes you so go over there and ask him out, now,” I say.
“Ok, fine,” she says.
I watch her as she walks over to the boys dormitory and knocks on the door, it takes a minute for the door to open and when it does TImmy answers.
“Hi, Timmy,” says Amy.
“Hi,” says Timmy.
“I was wondering if you would like to go out with me on Saturday,” says Amy.
“Sure, we can work out the details later,” says Timmy.
“Ok, bye.”
“Bye.”
