Chapter 2
After breakfast everyone came on the drive to the train station, I caught the 11:00am train to Sydney at platform 0.5, it's a special wizarding platform that non magical people can't see even though it's right there, they will never know it exists."Goodbye! See you over Spring break!" I yell out the window of the train as it pulls away from the station.
"Bye Penny!" yells my family back at me. I'm going to miss them until Spring break.
"Hi," says a girl with red hair, blue eyes and one of those smiles that could probably light up the whole world.
"Hi," I say back to her.
"I'm Amy, do you mind if I sit here?" she asks.
"I don't mind at all, I'm Penny by the way."
Amy sits down across from me in the car.
"Have you ever been to Sydney?" she asks.
"No, but my parents have and they say it's an amazing place. Have you ever been to Sydney?" I reply.
"No, I've always wanted to though, I'm here for the Tournament of Champions. Why are you going?"
"Same, I guess I'll be seeing you quite a bit then, I just hope neither of us lose."
We start talking and getting to know each other and the next thing you know the train is slowing down and pulling into the station,
"Now we just have to find the guy who greeting new people when they walk in," I say.
"I heard from one of the other cars that he's supposed to be right in front of the train," says Amy.
So we get out of the train and follow everyone to the front of the train to figure out where to go for the first day at this amazing place. There isn't much time left in the day but we still have to get a dormitory key and eat dinner.
We finally get to the guy telling people where to go.
"Hi, I'm Charles! How can I help you?" he says.
"We're here for the Tournament of Champions," I say.
"Ok, Tournament of Champions dormitories are just inside and to the right, keep walking until you see the sign that says "Tournament of Champions, girls dormitory" and here are your keys. See you around!" he says.
"Thanks," I say.
Amy and I walk into the school and down the right hallway like Charles said and find our beds, we are the only people in our dormitory because the other two contestants are boys, they are in the dormitory across the hall.
"I'm so excited to start training tomorrow!" says Amy.
"I know!" I say, "this is the best thing that has ever happened to me."
"We should go eat," says Amy.
We go eat dinner, it is truly amazing in the grand hall, the ceiling is so high you can't tell where it ends, the floors are marble and the table are made or the most beautiful wood you have ever seen. Dinner is amazing too, it is steak with cheese and baked potatoes with butter and salt, it's delicious!
On our way bay to the dormitory, me and Amy hear two boys talking to each other, trying to figure out which one of them is going to win the Tournament of Champions. Wait, the Tournament of Champions? And now they're saying that the other two contestants don't stand a chance because they're girls.
"Hi, I'm Penny and I'm here for the Tournament of Champions," I say.
"Hi, this is Timmy and I'm Asher," says one of the two boys.
"Oh I've met you, you were in the room when I went through the questioning," I say.
"Oh, right, well this is why I was there, other years I've helped organize the tournament, I am not going to lose," says Asher.
"Well, I guess you don't know me then because I have a motivation and once I'm set on the prize there is no way I'm losing," I say.
"I think she likes him," I hear Amy say to Timmy.
"Yeah, no kidding," he replies, "and knowing Asher he likes her to."
Me and Amy walk back to the dormitories with Asher and Timmy.
“Good luck making it through training,” says Asher.
“Don’t worry, I’ll try to only get twice your score instead of triple,”I say.
“I’ll go easy on you since I’m so much better.”
“Bye, I want to sleep before I take you down tomorrow.”
“Ok, bye.”
This morning I wake up to the sun creeping through the window and my owl scratching at it’s cage, so I get up and undo the latch and he flies out to greet me. A couple minutes later he flies out the window to get himself some food.
“Amy,” I say quietly, “Amy!” I yell at her to get her to wake up.
“What?” she says sleepily.
“It’s time to go eat breakfast. We start training after breakfast so wake up!”
“Fine.”
Me and Amy walk downstairs to go eat our breakfast and get to the training room.
The training room is probably one of the biggest rooms in the school, it's split up into different sections for different obstacles that might be in the tournament. The training room is round, like the arena and has so many obstacles it’s unbelievable, they keep a live dragon in there! My favorite thing about the training room is it’s not crowded like the rest of the school, only four people ever use it at once so it’s kind of relaxing in a way that is also very panicking.
