Out of Control
"M-ms. Brundon! Hello, as you can see I am your homeroom and English teacher." She spluttered, obviously not expecting me here right away. Her hands were splayed on her desk and she just stood there waiting for me to answer or smile or something friendly like that. So I smiled, because it was the exact opposite of what I wold normally do. Normally I would have just nodded and thrown my backpack over my shoulder. I wold have sat in silence until homeroom started.
"Ms. Dartmoor, right? It's a pleasure to meet you." I said, still smiling, I was like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day for her. Her smile was as wide as her face and she nodded. Students began trickling through the door, so I took a seat in the middle, which again, is exact opposite from what I would normally do. I would normally sit in the back corners.
I didn't actually have to change my personality that much, just stay quiet and not get noticed. But I just want to see how the other half lives, you know? So I was surprised when Ms. Dartmoor walked over to my desk and placed a few pieces of paper on my desk.
"You know, there are auditions for plays and everything, just wanted to know if maybe you would be interested. No one really participates much, only the ones who normally do, so it wold be fun to see some new faces there." She said, and her short blonde hair was falling over her ears. With her wide blue eyes and the short hair, Ms. Dartmoor looked like she could almost be our age. Not that her height helped either, she was at most 5'4". Her body type was the type with no breasts, no butt, and absolutely no fat. She had lots of fashion, making sure that her accessories matched her clothes, and her clothes complimented and made other parts stand out. She wore make up, but not too heavy. I mean I use the eyeliner, the mascara, the eye shadow, the foundation, you know the works. I keep on trying to convince some people to wear makeup, it would totally make them look a lot better. I just feel bad for guys, they don't use it, that would just be a little weird.
"Thank you, I am actually interested in the play and a few sports." I said, smiling again. I'm going to be That Girl, the girl that smiles a lot. Uh kill me now, this is going to be a long school year. The teach walked away and I felt someone kick the back of my seat. I turned around to see an amazingly hot guy. He had bright blonde hair, almost as blonde as mine, or as mine was without the Reka bodysuit. He had these piercing green eyes that made me just want to throw myself at him. His legs stretched out to under my desk, and he was sorta ripped, I mean enough that he could totally pass for a football player, or a wrestler. I wonder what he did to get in here, or if he was simply too powerful to handle at the normal magic schools. I stared into his eyes, trying to read his mind or something, but of course my magic only worked if I wanted to create a calamity or something. I mean, hey! I might just end up starting the apocalypse or something,, but as long as I read this guys mind, it doesn't matter. So I stopped trying to read his mind before I ended up reading the minds of the whole class.
"Yes?" I asked him after I realized that I might have been staring a little too long. I cocked my head a bit, and jumped at the sound of the bell. He laughed, and it was deep, not like the really deep voices, but just low enough to be reallllllyyyy sexy. I turned my head, my hair flying around me. The teach walked to the front of the classroom, and she clapped her hands once.
"Alright class! We have a new person, one we don't get a lot. Reka Brundon, Ms. Brundon, would you like to come to the front of the class?" She pointed her hands to the side of her as some whispers started up. You know, the whole who is she, is she hot, I hope she's pretty so we can be friends. And yes I know because apparently the thing where I tried to read the guys mind? Yeah well it seems like it had a delayed reaction, because now I'm hearing everyone's voices, and it seems like it wasn't just the guy, it was the whole floor. I winced mentally, and smiled brightly.
"Well as you know I'm Reka Brundon, and well if you want to know anything about me, just ask." I said, trying to act sheepish, and hopefully succeeding. I really just wanted to stay seated, and say 'if you want to know about me, come to me'. Like seriously, we're in high school, you don't have to introduce me in the middle of the class, they can just ask me and get to know me in the classes. I mean I'm pretty sure we get all touchy feely during magic practice. More like 'try to kill the kids while calling it magic practice'. I looked and saw at least three hands rise, one was some ginger chick, another was some jock, and the last one was the guy that sat behind me. I picked on the jock, might as well get the one that seemed the worst over with.
"Uh.." I gave him a look and he grinned.
"Vale, and yeah, where were you before this?" He asked, and I took a quick mental check over of what my cover was. I used to go to one of the most prestiged school in the whole magic curriculum. And I was apparently amazing.
"I went to Liernant." I said, and he doubled over. Supposedly only the rich and the really strong go there. I graduated from that in sixth grade. I was so advanced it was a wonder that it took me this long to come here. A couple people gave me some admiring looks and others looked a little suspicious. I nodded at the ginger, who hand was now wavering.
"Angelice, you can just call me Angel or whatever. But I mean, uh wait never mind." She looked down and blushed as some people laughed. I just smiled apologetically. I turned my look to the last one, the blonde guy. He looked pretty smug sitting there and I was partially tempted to smack the grin off his face.
"Kihon, and what'd you do to get in this place?" He asked with a lopsided grin. Ms. Dartmoor gasped as her eyes went super wide. The only person other than me that knows my cover story was the principal, so I was a little surprised at not only Ms. Dartmoor's reaction, but the whole classes as well. There were more whispers than before and they were all pointed at me and Kihon. By the way, who in the world names their kid Kihon? But then again who names their kid Aya or Reka. But back to the fact that it just looked like he asked if I was a male or female, obviously female, but just a question that no one dares to ask.
"Well I just became too powerful, you know?" I said laughing nervously. Some people calmed down a bit, but a lot just looked at me as though I had done something wrong.
"W-well since she's new why don't we have people go around and say their names and a little about themselves." Ms. Dartmoor looked confused and it seemed like she had absolutely no control over her students because of her tenacious nature. I felt kinda bad for her, but still we aren't in middle school anymore, I can find out what I want about who I want whenever. She probably thought, 'oh it's high school and people can be mean let's just give the girl a fighting chance in this hellhole'. I was really tempted to roll my eyes, and it literally took physical effort to not. I smiled and nodded mechanically. The names and the faces blurred and the only people I could remember were the people that asked the questions, and duh, the teacher. I was right about the blonde one, Kihon, he was playing football and wrestling. The other one, the jock Vale, was also on the football team. Double score for me! I walked back to my seat when everyone was done and Ms. Dartmoor went back to her desk, the homeroom for this school was just a time to socialize or study, or well, homework if you didn't do it the day before(which I'm starting to think no one does their homework). I did my homework, it's not like I want to be at high school for fifty million years, I would rather get it done the first time, instead of having to do another sheet. God that would just suck. I felt Kihon kick the back of my seat again. Doesn't this guy ever use normal ways to talk to me? I'm sitting in front of him not across the school. But I turned around like my alternate personality would do and I smiled.
"You know, to start a conversation you could really just talk to me." I withheld a snarky comment on the end of that and hoped I sounded nice. Oh, this is going to be tiring.
He leaned over and whispered. "You know if you wanted to get in here unnoticed you totally could have just come as your real self. Aya Drafone." And with that he leaned back, tilted his head back, and closed his eyes. My surprise didn't even begin to cover it. I was dumbfounded, and I couldn't do a thing about it.
