Enchilada Boy
We were in a sort of forest now, one that I recognized from camp. We were by Zeus's Fist, and Grover was sitting at the bottom of it on the rock that used to hide a secret passage way to the Labyrinth. His girlfriend Juniper was sitting next to him and they were talking seriously about something. Probably arguing about my supposed death. I heard my name and the word 'dead' really close together in a sentence and had to hold myself back before I screamed. I took a deep breath and walked up to them. I was in no mood right now to be mourned. Juniper stopped talking mid sentence and stared at me, then she turned into a tree. Typical. Grover looked behind him to see me and his eyes nearly popped out of his head."I thought you were dead, Percy!" He shouted. Of course he thought I was dead! Didn't everyone, though!?
"Why does everyone think I was dead!?" I finally broke, snapped like a twig but held it together as much as I could, because I was pretty sure that if I really wanted to I could make my friend all goat with the snap of my fingers, "Just because I didn't come back with everyone doesn't automatically mean I couldn't survive! I can handle being gone for a couple of freaking hours without being dead!" I gritted my teeth and took in a deep breath. I must've looked pretty scary because Grover backed up like he wished he could turn into a tree like his nymph girlfriend. It took a few seconds for me to cool down, but when I did, I stepped down,
"Sorry. I just... Everyone I've seen thinks I was dead, and I haven't been gone that long. It seems kind of stupid, even if we are coming back from a Titan war." I held my breath hoping to chill myself out. Then Apollo felt the need to intervene.
"And besides," He added, as if it would help, "He can't die." He smiled that mischievous smile that made me know that I had to take Grover's confusion without his help.
"Um, Percy?" He turned to me, "What does he mean?" He looked back and forth between me and Apollo.
"I..." I started, but I figured it would just be easier to slice my hand again. I pulled out and uncapped Riptide and sliced my hand where I had before in the Underworld. I held it out for Grover to see and he just stared at it with his mouth open, unmoving and unblinking.
"Now if you have any questions, feel free to bring them up with anyone but me. Might I suggest Apollo?" I said without moving. Grover just shook his head. I removed my hand and wiped it on my jeans.
"Okay then. Bye Grover. I probably will never see you again so if I were you I would say goodbye too." He just stared at me then dragged me into a hug. He pat me on the back and bleated a goodbye. That was weird.
"Lets go." I said, and this time I was the one to grab Apollo's arm. I felt different, and I wasn't sure weather it was a good thing or not.
