Percabeth
-Percy-Back on Olympus, it felt wrong to have left Annabeth so abruptly, but I wanted to leave on a happy note before she tried to attack me. Percabeth broke a long time ago, and there was nothing I could do to fix it. I slumped into the corner and focused in on Annabeth again. After a few hours of meaningless events, I fell asleep for the first time in two weeks.
I was headed to Hermes's private 'messenger room'. He said he wanted to show me something, but I was pretty sure it was a trap. Whatever it was, it had to be more interesting than spying on Annabeth for three days. I don't know what I would do without her. Probably something stupid like drown in a pool of mustard. It had only been three days since I saved her life, but it hurt like hell to be away for so long after seeing her again. She was the only thing that kept me from going full out god-mode. She was my Achilles heal, once again, but this time it was more metaphorical than literal. Hades came in to the hallway I was in through an intersecting pathway, his face looking like the bearer of bad news.
"Who died?" I asked. I was joking, but he wasn't.
"Annabeth. Come." He answered gravely. My heart jumped to my throat then sank to my stomach, then split in two and did both. This couldn't have happened. I only took my eyes off her for a few hours, and she got herself killed! I was too sad for tears, and too angry to do anything but follow. Hades was the only one that could transport to both the Underworld and Olympus, even though he technically wasn't an Olympian. I put my hand on his arm and found myself at the gates to the Underworld, where they decide weather to put you in Elysium, Asphodel, Punishment, or Tartarus. I knew in my heart that Annabeth would get into Elysium, the field for heroes to float around happily for all of eternity.
I saw Annabeth immediately and let go of Hades to run for her. Even dead, she seemed so full of life. Anger welled up in me, and I was glad there was no water in the Underworld, because if there was it would explode. I knew if I tried to grab her, I would just go right through her and that would depress me even more. I went up to her soul and whispered to her,
"Don't get reincarnated, Wise Girl. I have a plan." Then I transported myself back to Olympus.
