The Hedgehog

Ezra stood up and stormed out. Darex followed. "Espio!" She yelled. Espio came running down the stairs. "What?" He asked. "Turns out that Scourge was the cause of the wreck!" Ezra snapped. Espio was obviously furious. "Who's Scourge?" Trixie asked. "Scourge is a mean hedgehog who wants to get rid of us." Ezra answered. "It's not safe here. Espio! Go get help! Kids, follow me." Ezra said. They ran upstairs and Ezra picked up Star. They ran all the way back downstairs and into a bomb shelter. "Mama?" Star asked. Ezra didn't hear Star. "I need to save my kids." She thought. "Mom?" Trixie said sitting on a bed. "What?" Ezra asked. "I'm... scared." She said. Ezra frowned. She cradled Star and closed her eyes. "By-ush-ki-by-you." She whispered. "I know that song! You sang it to us when we were little." Darex said. Ezra gave Darex a crooked smile. "You're not kids anymore, are you?" She asked. "Sleep my child, my lovely child." Trixie sang softly. Darex caught on with what Trixie was doing and sang along. "I will tell you fairytales-"

"Sing sweet songs to you. By-ush-ki-by-you." Ezra sang. She opened her arms and they all gave her a hug. "Huggy!" Star said. They all laughed and Espio walked in. "Sonic said that he'll be here, but until then he says that its better if we stay hidden." He said. Espio sat on a bed across the room and Trixie got up and sat next to him. She yawned and laid her head on his lap. Ezra smiled. "Daddy's little girl." She said. Espio smiled. "Yes!" He said. They sat there for awhile, until they heard a boom. I woke everyone up and Star started to cry. Through the little window, a green hedgehog stood outside. "MOM!" Trixie screamed. Ezra looked at the window and screamed. She got up and walked to the back of the room. The hedgehog smiled and ran away. There was someone knocking on the door and everyone huddled close together. Suddenly, the door came down and the hedgehog stood there smiling.
