Talk
Rose smiled. She looked at the chains. "You were there. I'm glad I helped you." He nodded. "I am, too." She kissed him softly. He smiled. "Rest, Rose. You deserve it." He carried her to the bed, and she curled up under the covers. He smiled, and held her in a tight embrace. Rose smiled. "EJ... I don't feel guilty when I told Luara's parents I killed her. Should I?" EJ shook his head. "No. That was another death, another life. You've moved on, and to tell the truth, they double crossed you. They deserve it. The police will be looking for you, you realize that?" She nodded. "It's a game."He nodded softly. "Yeah. They chase you, you kill. No one gets hurt. No, wait, we stab. Never mind!" Rose laughed. "Funny. But I never realized I could be so cold-hearted." EJ scoffed. "A ruthless killer? Cold hearted? The words don't exactly go together, now do they?" He asked sarcastically. She smiled. "Yeah. I guess you are right. Thanks EJ." He shrugged. "I'm here for you." She smiled, and slept like she never had before.
She woke up in the arms of EJ, who was sleeping. She thought of the previous night. She snuggled up to him. EJ stirred, but she fell right back asleep in his, warm, gentle arms. When she woke up the second time, EJ was up. He was playing with his knife. "Hey." She said. He jumped, and his knife flew into the air. Rose pushed him off the bed as it landed right where his head was. "Ah!" She said. The knife landed on the bed, facedown. EJ gasped. "Thanks, but next time, can you not scare me?" She nodded. "I'll gently wait for you to get stabbed in the head. Sure." He got up, and grabbed his knife. Rose fell back into bed.
"I'm so tired. I felt like I haven't slept that good in weeks." EJ smiled, and held her. "You haven't. Remember? We..." He faded. Rose nodded. "Yeah. I should not be as unrestful at night." He held her hand. "How's your shoulder?" She smiled. "Sore, but okay." She touched it, and winced. He grimaced. "It's okay. Need ice?" Rose shook her head. "Well, I hate to admit it, but you and Hoodie need to talk things out." Rose grimaced.
She walked out, clearly annoyed, and EJ stopped her. "Wait until later, when he tries to explain, then kill him." She smiled, but shook her head. Seeing her chance, she ran for Hoodie, and threw her knife at his face. He turned, expectantly.
