Obsessive Compulsive Crazy Love

Annabeth's P.O.V.

Nobody knows that I am a secret spy

It was stupid, insane, and yet here I was doing it. I tried to convince myself that this wasn't stalking, it was just... careful watching. He was the new boy in town, and as well as being incredibly good-looking he had moved in next door to me. We didn't go to the same school (Me in Private, him in public), and I new nothing about him. Except that he goes to the YMCA on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for swim practice. And that his mom works at the candy shop next to Home Depot. And that I barely new anything about him (not even his name), but I still was walking ten feet behind him as he came home from school. He stopped before crossing the street, and while looking around he saw me. Blushing furiously, I pretended to be interested in my shoes. He began to walk again, and after waiting a few seconds, I began to follow. The wind picked up, not only tying his (Already messy) black hair into knots, but blowing off my Yankees cap and landing it directly in front of him. I ran after it, hoping to get it before he could see me. He picks it up, and as I come towards him, he hands it to me.

"I'm Percy," he says handing it to me "I don't think we've me before, I just moved in."
"I'm Annabeth," I manage to stutter out, "Thanks for getting my hat."
"No problem," he says, and we walk home together.

At 7:30, I crawl out my window onto the roof, then jump onto the tree between our houses. I see Percy in his room, on the phone with someone. Who is it? His girlfriend? I shudder at the thought, and retreat into my room to finish homework.

The next day, I'm wishing I'd said more to Percy than my name. I wanted to know things about him. I wanted to be friends with him, and eventually more than friends. I wanted to know things about him. I wanted to see the sparkle in his sea-green eyes when he laughed at a joke I made, hold his hand, take long walks in the park with him... No wonder my friends think I'm insane!

Thalia came close to trying to "slap me out of my daze",  but Piper and Hazel stopped her. I ended up telling them about Percy after they bribed me with a cookie, and Piper and Hazel both started squealing about "young love". Thalia pretended to puke, and I groaned and put my head down on the table.

I talked to Percy on the way home again, and was very proud of the fact that I managed to keep my blushing under control. It turned out that we had a ton in common! Both of us were only raised with one parent (His mom, my dad), both of us loved the band Fall Out Boy (And the song Young Volcanoes by Fall Out Boy) and he was (and I'm very happy to say) single. I think I saw him smile a bit when I said that I was too.

I watched Percy's house and saw his light on. He moved around gracefully, dancing to a tune I couldn't hear. The way he moved around the room sort of reminded me of that man, Fred Astaire, from that movie The Bandwagon my dad had shown me a couple years ago. They had that same sort of air about them. I looked at a couple of the magazines I had in my room, seeing the girls who looked beautiful, their perfect smiles and twinkling eyes that could easily win over a man. If only I had their finesse and those nice clothes, then I could win Percy's heart...

I'm raking the leaves outside of my house, when I see Percy out on his driveway also raking. I not-so-secretly make my way towards him, and begin to start a conversation. We talk about school and it turns out that, in a way, our social circles are the same. I begin telling him about Thalia, Piper, and Hazel when he suddenly looks surprised.

"Wait, do you mean Thalia Grace, Piper McLean, and Hazel Levesque?" He asks.
"Um, yeah... Why do you know them?" I say.
"Well, Thalia's my cousin..."
"Really?!"
"And Hazel and Piper are dating my best friends."
"Frank and Jason?"
"That's them."

We start to talk about the books that we like, and it turned out that we both liked the Peter Johnson series. (A/N: If ya know what I mean!!! *wink*)

"You know," he says "You sort of remind me of Annabelle, like from Peter Johnson"
"And you sort of remind me of Peter." I replied, and then realized what I was saying: Peter and Annabelle are a couple!
"But not, like... you know, like..." I trailed off, cursing myself for the lack of English skills.
"Yeah, it's cool." He says.

We continue to chat for about fifteen minutes, and then I go back inside.

I'm at the mall with a Piper (I need a new dress for a cousins wedding). It seems like every time I pick out a dress, Piper has something that makes me not able to buy it such as: "It's not your color." "Too flirty." "Too sparkly." "That would only work if you had an hourglass shape." Eventually we take a break of destroyed the neatly organized racks of Forever 21 and head over to the pretzel stand. We get in line behind a super tall blonde guy, and a guy with black hair. Piper goes through her wallet to get some cash.

"I only have large bills, do you have any fives?" She asks me.
"Nope."

She taps the blonde guy only the shoulder and says "Do you have change for a twenty?"

He turns around and suddenly Piper hugs him. "Jason, I haven't seen you in forever!"
"Hey Pipes." He says, smiling warmly.

The boy with black hair turns around to see what all the fuss is about.

"Oh, hey Annabeth." He says
I realize who it is, and reply with a "Hi Percy."
Piper stopped fawning over Jason just long enough to whisper not-so-quietly in my ear "Isn't that the guy you were talking about?!"

Thankfully, Percy doesn't seem to hear him, but Jason does and smirks. I blush furiously, but it's our their turn to order, so he can't say much about it.

I finally manage to find a dress that satisfies Piper, and then we go to pick out new boots for winter.

I'm out on my driveway shoveling snow, and I'm shaking from the cold. I see Percy come outside.

"Hey Annabeth." He says, and I smile at him.

He comes over to me, and I put down my shovel.

"I was wondering if youwouldwannagooutwithmesometime." He says really fast.
"I didn't quite catch that, could you say that slower maybe?" I say.
"Would you, um, want to go out with me sometime?" He says.
I'm shocked, Percy likes me? I couldn't believe it.
"Yes, of course! I'd love that." I say, maybe a little to eagerly.
"Really? I mean, see you on Saturday at 5:00, we'll go out to dinner." He says, and walks off.

I quickly finish raking the leaves, and hurry inside to do a victory dance. I grab my phone and all Piper, I'm going to need some dating tips!
