Rappers

I think Zico, CL, Jay Park, TOP, B.I, Bobby, G-Dragon, Suga and RM are the only legitimate rappers in Kpop (not k-hip hop). I don’t know why but almost every other “rapper” in Kpop either sounds breathy as they rap or don’t deliver their lines well. I can’t stand it when idols who can sing get stuck in a rapper position just because the group doesn’t have anyone who can rap. Music isn’t a formula and not every song needs to have a rap breakdown in it. Part of the reason I love Shinee is because yes, they have a rapper position in the group but it’s not heavily forced and not every song tries to force one.
The reason I prefer Zico, CL, Jay Park, TOP, B.I, Bobby, GD, Suga and Rm as rappers is because they’re not the greatest singers and they give their rapping everything. It’s not just a side job for them and they execute their lines clearly and well. Ultimately the remind me of what a rapper should be. Many Kpop group rappers just speak, not actually rap. I sounds like they are just talking to you and they often emphasize words that don’t have any meaning. If you’re going to rap do it right.
