King Blade 1

King Blade paced in his throne room. His red scales reflected the torchlight. His mate, Queen Jade, and his daughter, Princess Cupid, sat nearby. “No, no no. Can’t let them be corrupted. I can’t be corrupted. He’s coming,” he moaned over and over again
“Who’s coming?” Princess Cupid piped up. The king turned to look at his daughter. She was bright pink, with heart shaped markings on her cheeks, and darker pink heart shaped spines. She was still a young dragonet, yet she had a significant beauty that she inherited from her mother. Her violet eyes shimmered in the light as she shifted her feet unsteadily. With only 3 feet, it wasn’t as easy to keep balance as she would have liked.
The king sighed and shook his head. She will find out sooner or later. Better hear it from you than a slave. He blinked slowly, “I think-” He shook his wings and shivered, too young too early perhaps just a little bit longer… “I think you should go play outside.” He told her ushering her away with his tail. The princess sighed and limped towards the forest, her tail dragging behind her.  When Blade turned his wife was staring at him. Her eyes were a bright green, with dark, forest pine green scales.
“You can’t avoid this forever. You have to tell her.”
“Yes, yes. But later,”  he replied ushering away the thought. The thought of those terrible glowing red eyes, treacherous talons, and ripped wings big enough to cover the sun. Why did any dragonet deserve to know of that?
