Regretting The Chances

This is a story I have on the app Watt.pad, and I decided to post it onto this too. One question, though... Why is Watt.pad a forbidden word? Is it because it's another website? But wait! Twitter is not blocked! Facebook isn't either! Ah well. Here is my story, I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 13 Getting A New Home

<<<Ashley's P.O.V.>>>
I was gathering our stuff up when I heard her voice. It was laced with anger and pain. I turned to see AJ running up to me, breathing quite heavily.
"Ashley! Wh- why? Why did you do this to my... My... Ugh, my ex? I told you, told you not to hurt him! Why did you do it? Huh? Why?" She came to a stop in front of me.
"I... I was only trying to help you! I was... I was only trying to help... And he deserved it!"
"He got kicked in the balls, had a bloody nose, and a black eye. He didn't deserve that! All he deserved was another chance! If anyone should hurt him, it should've been me. I'm his ex. So I should've beat him up! Not you!" She thundered, then her anger got the best of her. She started throwing verbal swears at me, calling me all sorts of freakin hell. Asshole, cock head, dick, idiot, every little swear in the world. She was mad. Very mad. I just stood there, each word hitting me like a physical punch. It hurt to see her like this. Pure hatred, spurred towards me. Then the blows came. She started raining down blows on my arms and chest. I tried to block them, crying out with pain. But the blows got weaker and weaker as the tears started running down her cheeks. Finally, she had exhausted the anger and pain she felt. And she fell into my arms, crying heavily. I held her, rocking her back and forth, murmuring soothing words. I looked at my arms as I did so. There was rapidly forming bruises there, but only about five out of ten of her blows really left marks. When AJ had sobbed until there was no tears left, she drew back.
"I'm sorry... Sorry... Sorry..." She cried, and hugged me so tightly that I almost lost my breath.
"It's okay. I'm sorry I beat up your ex."
She only shrugged, and pulled back, and more tears started streaking down her cheeks. I reached out reassuringly.
"Hey...hey... No more tears... Stop your crying... It's time we went and got a new home, dontcha think so?"
AJ looked up, excitement in her eyes. "Yeah! We really do need a new home!" And just like that, her anger and the events that had happened before were forgotten. We rushed off and went downtown. AJ quickly spotted an apartment for sale, and we walked across the street. I talked to the owner and discussed the money plans and rent and that stuff. We soon came to an agreement, and, bam! Just like that we had a home. A new, warm, comfortable home.
AJ and I carted all of are belongings (which wasn't much,) into the apartment. We soon had it set up like a good home. A perfect home. "Now all we need is goldfish! I can't live another day without it!" I laughed at AJ's statement. Of course she couldn't live without goldfish. It was her favorite snack! Not the real fish, of course. AJ couldn't stand seafood. She meant the cracker kind. So off we went to the grocery store, buying food we needed. After we paid, I checked the money in my pocket. '20.00 left!?' I thought to myself. Me and AJ really needed jobs. Oh well. We had a house, food, and I had a boyfriend. We were on our own now, without a mother to look after us. What more could a girl want?
