Chapter She Looks So Perfect (Luke)

I don't know when I started to like her. We aren't even friends, really. But one day, I saw her talking to her best friend, Alex, and my heart broke.
The only problem was that everyone thinks she has a crush on Alex, and he likes her back. And my best friend likes her too.

Calum has liked her for way longer than me. He always talks about her, and Ashton, Michael and I would make fun of him. Then I realised how amazing Lauren is, and I fell for her too. But I can't let anyone know.
But my best friends found out anyway.

I pass Lauren in the hallway at school. She's talking to one of her best friends. "Um, hi, Lauren!" I blurt out. Lauren looks at me and smiles, though she looks slightly confused. "Hi," she replies, and continues walking.
The boys turn to me. "You like Lauren!" Michael exclaims. "Shh!" I hush him, glancing around. "Lauren's mine, mate," Calum says. "I think Luke would have a better chance with her," Ashton tells Calum, shrugging. "Why do you think that?" Calum demands. "Luke is like the most popular guy in the school!" Ashton replies. "Nah, Calum will get his chance with her over someday," Michael puts in. "You sure about that?" Ashton says, turning to Michael. Michael nods.
"I have an idea!" I interrupt. The others look at me. "Ash, you try to help me win over Lauren. Michael, you do the same with Calum." They mumble agreement. "It's on, then," Calum says.
