Olympus
-Jenna-The ride took less time than I expected. We were to the Empire State Building within ten minutes. I scrunched my eyes closed.
"I think my eyeballs are being burned out of my head." I pinched the bridge of my nose and looked up, blinking a few times. Apollo laughed.
"How is it that you can't stand that, but you can stand me?" Only I knew what he meant. I shrugged my abnormally small shoulders and slid out of the car (or chariot, whatever. It looked like a car) after Annabeth. I closed the door behind me and Apollo walked up to the guy at the desk and just looked at him. Desk guy got the message and opened the elevator. He motioned for us to follow him into it. It was strange, watching a god take the elevator.
It opened and Apollo stepped out, followed by me, then Percy, then Annabeth. They were holding hands. Gag. I looked at them, accidentally using my disgusted face, and they let go after they saw me. I looked away, satisfied, and I heard Percy whisper to Annabeth about me saying I was 'such an Artemis'. I rolled my eyes and Apollo laughed. Either he heard them, or he heard me thinking. That was annoying.
We walked up and soon found ourselves in the throne room. Apollo turned to Percy,
"So, who asked for you exactly?"
"Well, Zeus sent for Poseidon to ask Hermes who told Nico to tell me to come." Percy clarified and Apollo nodded.
"Stay." Apollo said, "And turn around and close your eyes." Everyone did but me as he went into his 'I'm gonna incinerate you' form.
"Show off." He murmured to me, then went full-sized and disappeared before I could call him one as well. Percy and Annabeth turned around and looked at me.
"You didn't turn around?" I shook my head, "Or close your eyes?" I shook my head again. "How?" I shrugged. Annabeth stepped in,
"How didn't you get incinerated?" She mused. I shrugged again. We waited a few minutes before Apollo came back with Zeus, Poseidon, and Hermes. I didn't feel like showing respect, but I didn't feel like going out of my way to disrespect them. Percy did.
"Why am I here? Haven't I done enough?" He demanded. It was true that the gods used him as their pawn. They would find him, usually Annabeth, and someone else to do their dirty work. I wasn't surprised that they needed us now. That was probably only because I knew what was going to happen. I mouthed the words Poseidon was saying like they were lines I had practiced and learned. He spoke calmly,
"We need your help with something. Hephaestus has disappeared, and taken everything he's made with him. I can't have the Cyclopes make anything because he also took all forging materials. Apollo prophecised that you three would come and find him if we sent for Percy. Here you are. You have all the tools you need to find him, as I have been told." He looked me up and down. I knew he was referring to me as the 'tool'. I was NOT a tool. Apollo snickered. Shut up Apollo.
Percy and Annabeth looked at me as well, "Her?" Percy seemed surprised, "But she's just a kid!" I scowled at him.
"I am NOT a kid!" He put his hands up. Artemis was watching like we were all crazy.
We are." Apollo answered. That's getting annoying. Stop it, Apollo. He shrugged.
Poseidon was right. I did know where to go. I would need a ride, sadly. I looked at Apollo.
"Sure thing." He said, "Where to?"
I thought for a second, "Brazil."
