Chapter 14, Legends Part Two
At this point Dawn paused and took a deep breath in.
"Lightning grew older on her own, Edgeheart giving her lessons through dreams. Eventually Lightning learned about tribes and clans. She decided to create a tribe, because her ancestors were clan out casts. She first searched for a place to create a tribe. She searched for many moons. She crossed rivers, mountains, valleys, fields, and forests searching. Finally she came to a canyon with water falling in front of a cave. She chose this place for her tribe."
"Lightning put together a small group of rogues to train for her tribe. Among these few were two memorable cats, Magic in the west and Darkness of the night. These two were called Magic and Night by most of the others. Magic was a she-cat with fur painted in many colors. Her skill at changing her own fur color amazed a few of the tribe, but it also made her unpopular with the rest. Magic was a prey hunter and an adviser of Lightning. Night was a tom cat with fur charcoal black fur. He was a camp guard, and he also had an apprentice. Night was respected by all of the tribe and would have succeeded Lighting as tribe healer. Magic and Night were supposedly the last members of the tribe to remain after it fell apart."
"Eventually the Tribe of Broken Boulders became unstable. Lightning, then called Stoneteller, could not keep her prey hunters and camp guards from leaving or dying in battle. Eventually only the strongest and most loyal members were left. There were a couple of hunters, a camp guard, and a to-be camp guard. Then Stoneteller declared the the tribe disbanded, because she was on her last life with few cats still remaining. The last few remained until their leader died or until they were the ones to die."
"That's a lot to remember," said Willow.
"I know," Dawn replied, "and I still haven't spoken of Murkclan, Gleamclan, or Dawnclan."
"Were you named in honor of that third clan you just mentioned?" Willow inquired.
"I'm really not sure about that," Dawn responded. "I guess that could be true, but I'll tell you about them tomorrow. Go get some rest friend."
Willow looked to the nearest window. She realized a lot more time had gone by than she thought. It was almost sunset now.
"Okay I'll definitely want some rest before tomorrow," Willow said. "I'll just check on Altra first."
"Have a peaceful sleep," Dawn told Willow.
