Hopeless ?

Alone

It had been two days since he had awoken from the battle field and slain the goblin warrior, but it was still a fight to try and find another human being who hadn't fled the land from the oncoming hoards.

One had to de carful when traveling these lands as monsters lurked around every corner or bend in the road.

The knight had already seen Skeleton soldiers and giant Cyclops traveling the roads to rejoin more of their forces at the front lines as he attempted to travel south and find his fellow brothers in arms.
Already he had encountered several more goblins that he had to------dispatch, as he hung near the roughest terrain as he could so as not to be seen.
Things were not as they should be evil continued to grow as the forces of good dwindled away little by little, bit by bit.
How much longer could they hold out before evil engulfed the land in eternal darkness, ruled by the undead, corrupted, or foul creatures that spawned in the shadows.
The knight was worn out, and stretched to his limits when he decided to sit by one of the last standing trees in the area to shade himself form the intense heat of the sun.

When he woke the knight cursed himself for falling asleep without cover, if an enemy had seen him he would have been done for. As he got to his feet he saw that it was sunset as the sky danced with the gold, red orange, and pink marking the end of another day. Stripping his armor off he discarded any pieces that were beyond repair and the ones that would slow him down.
Taking a deep breath he started on his way again.
