I think I'm hallucinating.. (part 1)
Princess Luna has been living in her sister's shadow for many years. At first, she didn't care. She barely noticed. But it's been going on for years now. Celestia hasn't noticed, no one has. Luna felt more lonelier than ever. Today was the celebration of them ruling for many years again. This time, she wasn't noticed at all. A few minutes in to the celebration and she was behind her sister's back. She tried to get to the front of the balcony but that was no use. After the celebration, Celestia turned to her and grinned widely. "Oh, don't you just love a crowd?" She asked, adding a cute little squee sound afterwards. Celestia was obviously too happy to notice Luna's sad face. "Yeah..I love a crowd." She sighed and walked away down the hallway. Meanwhile, Celestia was celebrating with some cake and maybe a few pieces of work here and there, too busy to know where Luna went. Luna walked into her room, closed the door and looked in the mirror of her dressing table. She sighed and started to sing..
"Look at me..I will never pass for a perfect princess. Or a perfect sister. Can it be..I'm not meant to play this part..?"
She looked down at the pictures of her and Celestia on her dressing table, her eyes swelling up with tears.
"Now I see, that if I were truly to be myself. I would break my sister's heart.." She looked back up at the mirror,
"Who is that mare I see? Staring straight back at me..why is my reflection someone I don't know? Somehow I cannot hide, who I am..though I've tried. When will my reflection show who I am inside?"
She turned her head away from her mirror and stared out the window, tears slowly dropping down her face.
"When will my reflection show..who I am inside..?"
For many years she's had the same feeling. The feeling of pain. For the past couple of years, there's been this demon called..Nightmare Moon..haunting her mind. She's spoken to a few ponies about this, seeing if they can help her get over it. Everpony just laughed and then it's been spread around the world. She feels humiliated, maybe that's why ponies don't pay attention to her. Maybe because they think she's mad..
She walked onto her balcony, staring up at the bright sun. She quickly spread her wings and flew off of the balcony and into the darkness of the everfree.
"It's over now..I know inside. No one will never know. The sorry tale of 'Nightmare Moon'. And those who die, no one must ever know.."
She sang to herself, staring at a pool of water. "They only see the tragedy, they not see my intent. The shadow of Night's evil..will forever kill the good that I have meant.." She sighed as she looked down, staring at her sad and sorry self. "Am I a good mare..?" She asked herself, "Am I a mad mare..? It's such a fine line..between a good mare and I.." She closed her eyes and lay down next to the water, sighing.
All of a sudden, a deep and dark voice sang back to her. "Do you even think that I would ever let you go? Do you even think that I would set you free?" It growled. "If you do, I'm sad to say. It simply isn't so.." She recognized this voice instantly. It was the demon haunting her mind..Nightmare Moon. She sat up straight at her voice, staring into the water. Her reflection was there! "You will never get away from me.."
The night princess stood up, growling with her wings wide. "All that you are is a face in a mirror! I close my eyes and you disappear!"
"I'm what you face when you face in the mirror!" Nightmare said in return, hissing, "Long as you live I will still be here!"
"All that you are is the end of a nightmare, all that you are is a dying scream!" Luna hissed back, "After tonight I shall end these demon dreams!" She walked away from the water, her wings still spread wide. All of a sudden, like a real nightmare, the dark mare came out of the water..
