Back Story: Her mother was drunk one night and accidentally rammed her car into a tree with Iris and Lela in the back, Lela was seriously injured and Iris had broken three bones. Their mom died on impact and their dad who was coming to meet them found the car and called for an ambulance, once they reached the hospital it was revealed that Lela was most likely going not going to make it through the night, their father stayed with Iris not bearing to lose his last link to family. Iris slowly recovered but once she did her father told her the bad news, Iris stayed in the hospital for a while until the staff deemed her okay to travel.
