The New Year
A new year is to be welcomedEarth revolved once around our beloved sun
The 12 months are over once more
Another year is done.
Every memory changes
It's time to make new ones
Even as you keep the old ones,
Another year has outrun.
The starry skies twinkle in response
The birds chirp, squawk, and hoot,
The animals chirp, roar and squeak
Even the ones in the coal chute.
Happiness too much to hold
Overflows us like water,
Today is not a time for things
Like unhappiness, sorrow, and bother.
