The Disney Princesses

I don't know If you knew, but Megara was killed by Hercules in the Greek myth.
Not to criticize your love of Disney, but they made hundreds of mistakes in Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland and the little mermaid. Just one other note, the Hercules movie has the same name as the myth and most of the same characters but a totally different plot which ruined it for See More me since they didn't even in clued his real, original, Greek name.

My favorite Disney "princess" is Emperor Kuzco. I don't care what you say. He is a fabulous princess! XD

First off, excellent analysis. However, keep in mind the years their films were produced. Many of the most beloved and classic princesses were created in the 1930s (Snow White) on up through the 1950s (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Alice) where gender roles dominated a lot of the society and people were much more conservative. They started to branch out a bit See More as the times changed. I'd say the 1980s (Ariel) is when the fight started to be brought into the princesses. Still though, very true what you say. They're a little one-sided, but Disney knows what will appeal to the masses.

P.S. People tend to forget Kida, Audrey, and Helga from 'Atlantis: The Lost Empire'. They all kick butt! But then again, the movie wasn't very popular. :/
