reality comes knocking
It was about time for school to let out. I dreaded this day, for I knew when I got home I would have to gather my things and leave. My sister had just lost her job, and we where running out of money. We weren't able to pay the last few months rent, and we where being evicted. As are teacher was telling us about are homework the bell rang it was time to go home. Every one in the class ran towards the door, except me. I didn't want to accept reality. I hesitated towards the door and left the room. Because I didn't take the bus, I procrastinated by going to the bathroom and getting a drink of water. I tried talking to people but of course, they just ignored me like usual. As the hallways started to thin, the teachers started to give me looks. So I had to leave. I slowly walked down the street to my apartment complex where my sister would be waiting. I took as long as I could but I couldn't wait forever. As I approached the apartment complex I could see my sister in the distance waiting by her car, I started to cry. My sister spotted me and drove up to the entrance where I was standing. Com on now get in the car, you took way to long to get home. they were about to call the cops on us, she said. I entered the car and slammed the door behind me. My sister drove off.
While we where riding in the car, I asked her ware are we going to go? She ignored me at first, but then she answered, the Wal-Mart parking lot. It was about 7:00 when we pulled in to the parking lot. At this point I was starting to get hungry and was wondering if we had money for food, we didn’t. For the rest of the night we just stayed in the car and listened to music before we went to sleep. I curled up in the back seats and tried to get comfy, I was never able to fall asleep. Due to being hungry and the small space.
The next morning I tried to get ready for school, I put my deodorant on and tried to wash my hair with a water bottle but that didn't really work. I had to end up whipping the soap out of my hair with napkins. I wasn't really able to brush my hair so it was a mess. But luckily I did have a clean shirt I could wear. I ended up using all the water in the bottle so I had to brush my teeth with out water. It wasn't fun but I managed, barley.
School that day really wasn't that bad. I had no friends and no one really notices me any way, so no one noticed my hair. (Or they did but they didn't say anything). School was pretty normal, except focusing was kinda hard due to being tired and not having any thing to eat but once lunch time came around hunger was no longer a problem. I was so glad I still had money on my account. After school my sister picked me up and took me to the library to do my homework. After I was done we got in the car and headed back to the Wal-Mart parking lot. During the rest of the day we just sat in the car, we really didn't have much else to do. My sister had already went to her job interviews and didn't have more into tomorrow. I had no friends so I just sat in the car, and sang while staring out the window.
My sister all ways said I had a wonderful voice but I didn't think so. Later that day my sister asked if I was hungry. I said of course I am all I have eaten for the past 2 days was lunch at school. She then gave me 3 quarters and said I could go buy a candy bar. I went into wall-mart and bought a Kit Kat bar my favorite. While I was in there I went to the bathroom to wash my face and body, lucky there was no one in there so I was able to take my shirt off and get myself cleaned up.
After that I went back to the car and enjoyed the candy bar, I tried to eat it slowly so it would last longer. While I was in the car I went looking threw my stuff into I found my favorite cd nevermind. I put it in the cd player, and soon as my sister herd it she got mad. This was like her; she would always get mad when I listen to secular music. I didn't talk to here for the rest of the night. The next few days where about the same, I was tired and hungry at school and my life kinda sucked. That was into my account ran out of money, things got worst. I didn't have any thing to eat, not even lunch at school.
