The girl at the docks

Hello readers! It has been quite a bit since I've posted a homestuck story, even though none of you asked, here's another, tell me what you think and I hope you like it!

"Karkat, would you like to share your summer with us?" The teacher called on you, you nervously made your way to the front of the class with your papers, you prepared yourself you took a deep breath as you re-visited your memories.

Your Name is:
Karkat Vantas, it is the beginning of the summer. You and your family are going to your grandparents beach house, except, there was one giant problem. You don't want to go there, you'd much rather be at home playing mind rotting video games with your best friend Sollux, why does the world hate you? You sit next your older brother Kankri and buckle into the car, as your dad begins to drive. You have your arms to your chest and are slumped into your chair, your dad adjusts the mirror. "Karkat, is something the matter?" You roll your eyes at your father
"Yeah, something is the matter. I don't want to go to that stupid beach." You grumble,

"Oh Karkat, it will be fun, get some fresh air." At this you made a choking noise,

"Yeah, whatever."
       You look out your window, your dad keeps trying tell you all the upsides,
"You'll get to see family, like your cousins, your grandparents, and your aunts." He said,
the thought made you shiver, "I hate our family!"
     He laughed, "Son, how can you hate us when we're..." Oh no you thought to yourself, you knew what he was going to say please don't say it..., "Vantabulous?" Your dad chuckled, he thought something so stupid was clever, well it wasn't it was corny and sickening.
You try to look out your window again, only to be disturbed by your big-mouthed brother Kankri, "What do you want?" You don't even look at him, you just rest your cheek in your palm and keep looking out your window.
   "Oh brother, please do not speak to our father in such a manner, it is rather vulgar and triggering to me,"

you turn your head to Kankri, "Oh really? I didn't know and now that I know I still don't care." You looked out the window again,

"Karkat, that was very rude, I was only trying to help lighten your mood about the whole trip-" and we're off, there he is ladies and gentlemen Kankri Vantas! half person half tool "
-it'll be tons of fun-" why can't he just shut up? "-Our aunt Gertrude is a very lovely lady-" blah blah blah,
"-Don't you agree?" He finally finished his vacation rant,

"Y-Yeah, whatever.." Kankri smiled a bit, "That's great Karkat–" apparently you weren't the only one tired of his ranting, your dad was too.

"–Kankri, can you please keep it down? As much as wise as your words are, I'm starting to get a headache." Kankri nodded, "Yes father, I wouldn't want you to have a headache while we're on our fun family–" he interrupted again "–Kankri, you're doing it again." Kankri zipped his lips, thank you dad.... You thought to yourself, you could finally think again now that you didn't have Kankri in your ears, oh yeah now where we you? Oh yeah Why did you have to go on this stupid vacation? Why did the world have to hate you? Why was it always you?! You watched as the sun went down, you sighed you hadn't even made it to the beach and you already wanted to be back home, you were going to miss over half the summer at a stupid beach where nobody even lives, oh wait your family lives there but you hated your family very much you felt like this whole trip would be pointless.
     Why couldn't you just go somewhere else? Anywhere but that stupid beach. You rest your head on the back of the seat, and groan. You can't imagine having fun with your cousin Taylor. He loved to torture you and is quite the sadist, your dad always says something like, 'That's how he plays Karkat, lighten up a bit.' But no, he knew you didn't like it, finally decide to stop thinking about it. You try to get some sleep because you knew while you were over there you would have to watch your back and that meant no sleep because you didn't know what he was plotting, you rest your head on Kankri's shoulder, and much like him, slip into an 8 hour comatose state,

The next morning

   "We're here boys," your father opens the car door and stretches, Kankri does the same, you stay in the car and hope he forgets all about you. "Karkat, c'mon you have visitors and they're happy to see you." Your eyes widen, you knew it who it was. "Kiiiiiiikaaaat~" the voice ran through your ears,

kill me now

you had no choice but to get out of the car. You got out of your hiding spot and begrudgingly gave your cousin Taylor a hug, "Nice to see you again Taylor." You gritted your teeth, he gave an evil smile. "Signless!" It was your aunt Gertrude, she's loud and obnoxious. She jumped on him and gave him a hug, he hugged her back, "It's great to see you Gertrude." She smiled and released her grip on him, "You brought the babies?!" She ran over and squashed you and Kankri in an affectionate embrace, "My babies! Look how big you guys are!" You wrinkled your nose in disgust she had the scent of litter boxes, desperation, and cigarettes. "Give me a kiss!" You thought if you had to kiss this woman you would throw up then and there, Kankri pecked her on the cheek, you held your breath a kissed her on the cheek she smiled and poked your stomach, she gasped,

"Oh dear me! Signless! You haven't been feeding these kids a thing! I made you guys a nice big breakfast don't worry, you're aunt Gertrude is here!"

She pinched your cheeks, "I'll make you nice and plump." She pulled at your cheeks, "You'll have a little tush," she pinched your butt and jump a little rubbing the spot she pinched,

     "Well, come on. We don't have all day here. Taylor unpack their stuff." You all walked to her house and there was a buffet of breakfast awaiting you. "You guys eat up, you look like twigs, especially poor Karkat." She grabbed a piece of bacon and chewed it. You decide to fix a plate, and you're shocked that Taylor hasn't done anything to you yet, as your walking you trip, you hear his maniacal snickers, but of course you had that coming, you jinxed yourself. You finish your food eventually and you are stuffed silly.
    You go to your room, you're supposed to be sharing it with Taylor, you already know this is dangerous. You lay on the bed sleepy from the itis that the food gave you, "Hello Kitkat." You groan and sit up, "What do you want Taylor?" You ask him, he only said hi and you were already tired of his presence. "Since this is my room I want to give some," he jerked you up by the collar, "–ground rules." He dropped you, you stand up ready to fight back, "Oh calm down Kitkat, it was just ruff housing." I'm not stupid... "Uh-huh, sure it Taylor." You dust yourself off, "You know, you're about as smart as you are handsome. So, not very," He glares daggers at you and jerked up by the collar, "Ngh! Let me go!" You struggle in his arms, at this moment there are two options. Try to fight back and lose horribly,or scream like a baby girl

Karkat---->Do the second thing.

You scream in fear hoping someone will hear your distress signal, it's your aunt Gertrude, "Taylor! Put Karkat down this instant young man!" With that you were dropped to the floor, "Now apologize." Taylor looked down and muttered his apologies, for once you were thankful she was useful for something, she kneeled to your level, "Now Karkat, to make it up to Taylor wants to show you around the beach. Isn't that fun? Of course it is!" Your eyes widen, no one will be able to hear your screams out there! "B-But–" she shooed you out the room, "It'll be tons of fun, now go, shoo my little angels." You scooted you both outside, Oh No....please no... Taylor smirked evilly, "Nobody can save you from me out here...eheheheh" Karkat, there are two more options run, or try and scream again.

Karkat----> Do the first thing

You bolt out of there, running through sand in flip flops was hard but having a black eye and trying to see would be even harder, Taylor dashed after you, he caught up with you faster than expected. You keep running not looking back but you can hear his breathing, suddenly you're off the sand and in the air, "You thought you could run? Well think again. Y'know you're about as fast as you tough, so not very." You tried to kick him but he held you arm distance away "Just put me down!" You yell trying to sound tough, it was all a bitter mistake, "I see you finally grew a pair," You nod, "Great so now my mom will think it's playful rough housing." He wound his fist. Your eyes widen and you keep struggling you start to cry Oh no...please don't not in front of him of all people! He laughed, "Oh my gosh! You're crying! Title revoked, you're now Karkitten!" He dropped you from all the laughing he was doing.

Karkat----> It is suggested you bolt out of there.

You abscond out of there crying, the tears stung as they fell from your eyes I want to go home I never want to come here again! You lose Taylor and lay on the docks. All you wanted to do was curl up into a ball and die right then and there. You look down at the water and you saw a face...this face wasn't yours, you sniffled Why can't anyone see how evil Taylor is? You put your hand in the water and moved it around, you watch the water ripple and you let a couple more tears fall, oh well...you close your eyes.



Your name is:
Terezi Pyrope you are a beautiful mermaid girl, you live in bubble springs, even though it isn't actually a spring. It's an ocean at the beach. You are currently swimming towards the surface world for another one of your sea shells you love the colors of them and that's what you use to decorate the walls of your room. You are at the surface, you see a weird looking mermaid, oh no! Someone should get him to the water and fast, you grab his wrist and pull him into the water.

Terezi----> Be weird looking mermaid.


You are now Karkat:
You feel something grab your wrist, yours eyes widen and something pulls you into the water with a splash you are now in the water, you open your eyes and see a redheaded girl -or what..wait a second is that a tail? It is a tail!
   You look at the girl and she looks back at you, you do this until your lungs are on fire and swim back up to the shore, you take large breaths and swim away, frantically you climb onto the dock. She looks at you with her head tilted, "Why'd you get back on land?" She asked, was she really this clueless? No, she couldn't have been...well maybe as far as you know she's a mermaid,

"Because, I need to be up here." You say back dipping your hand in the water

"Oh! You're one of those...um...don't tell me humains!" She said

You corrected her.

"Human, I'm a human." You lay back down on your stomach and she gets a little higher,

"What's it like to have not tails?" She smiles eagerly. You chuckle and correct her again,

"They're called legs." You smile at her questions,

"Can I touch it?" You feel somewhat awkward letting her do this.

"Sure?" You sit with your legs off the dock and her smooth hands rub them up and down,

"Wow is this how all human skin feels?" She keeps rubbing your leg in amazement,

"I guess so." You figure you could ask her a question since your curiosity is peaked,

"Can I feel your fins?" She puts your hand on her fin, they felt like slippery rubber,

"Wow...are you a real mermaid?" She looked at you like you were the dumbest living thing,

"Are you a real human?" You rolled your eyes and she snickered,

"I'm Terezi, Terezi Pyrope." She extended her hand,

"Karkat Vantas." you shook her incredibly soft hands,

She nodded, "Nice to meet you Karkles."

You gave her a look, no way she was getting away with that. "You too, 'Rezi." She laughed,

"What kind of things do you like?"

She smiled, "I like all kinds of treasures I find on the beach, mostly shells, what about you?" Just as you were respond,

"Karkat! Where are you?" Someone in the distance yelled, you recognized the voice immediately, it was your dad.

"I have to go." You stood up she frowned a little,

"Do you have to?" She asked. You nodded,

"I'll meet you here again." She nodded and disappeared into the water. "Son, there you are." Your dad hugged you, his embrace was warm so you guess it wouldn't hurt to hug him back, he looked at you,

"Who was that girl you were talking to? Do you have a little crush?" He wiggled his eyebrows,

"Y-No, she was just some crazy girl who pulled me into the water. Can I meet her here later?" You watched as you dad thought about it, "Sure son, I'm glad to see you're having fun but it's dinner time," that's when Terezi stuck her head out of the water, you look down at her.

"Oh, Terezi this is my dad." She showed her face completely, he didn't mind her fins for ears he smiled kindly and got on his knees to shake her hand,

"Hello Terezi, I'm Signless."

She takes his hand, "I'm Terezi Pyrope." They shake,

"Karkat was just telling me about you. I think he's very fond of your company, maybe you can join us for dinner?" She looked down,

"I can't." She pulled her tail out of the water, "Mermaid." She said as she put her tail back in the water.

"Oh well then Karkat, you can eat out here if you would like to." You look up at your dad with disbelief,

"Really? Thanks dad." Your dad nods, "Just go get your plate, he'll be back in a second."

You walk at first but when you're far enough you run home excitedly, you get your dinner and put it in your lunch bag from school. You run back outside and and shove seashells into your pockets figuring that would be a nice gift for Terezi, "Hold on Speedy Gonzales!" Your aunt Gertrude call, "What's in your pockets and why?" You groan mentally and turn around to look at your aunt. "I have shells in my pocket that I wanted to give to my friend." She eyed you, "Oh Kar baby does someone have a crush?" She hugged you again you once again had to hold your breath, "Let me give you something," she went through her jewelry box and gave him a necklace, "Give her that. Girls loooove sparkly things! Take those ridiculous shells outta your pockets who told you girls loved shells? Your father?" You chuckle, "Now go, woo her!" You thank her and take the necklace, you ran back there but when you were close enough you walked, your dad was gone and now it was just you and Terezi, "I got you something." You show her the shells and she gasps, "Thanks Karkles!" She jumped and hugged your neck, you ended up falling into the water, you looked at her and she chuckled, "Do you want to see my place?" She sounded the same, under the water, you nodded, "Okay, hold on." She leaned in and kissed you, Karkat there are two options, kiss her back or get extremely flustered.

Karkat----> Get flustered

"Mmph!" You feel your face heating up, and you're unsure what to do and how to react, sure you did have a crush on the girl but you guys just met! She pulled away, "What was that for?!" You yell, "Relax, a mermaid kiss is the reason people can breath under water." You were utterly shocked, your lips tingled, "L-Lets just see your house already!" She looked at you confused, "It was just a kiss..." She stopped herself, "Neptune! You were my first kiss!" She smiled, "I've got to tell Latula." That was Karkat's first kiss as well, "You don't have to tell anybody..." Karkat muttered, "It was just a stupid kiss." She chuckled, "Your cheeks don't say it was stupid. You're as red as a crab, maybe I should call you Karcrab." She cackled and grabbed your wrist she began to swim, her house was a giant coral cluster, "Let's go in, my mom won't mind." She sits in a giant clam and it shuts, "T-Terezi!" You try to open the clam but it won't budge..."Are you okay?" You don't get an answer, the clam opens slowly and dramatically. There is she, combing her hair with a brush, "Hey Karcrab! What's up?" She laughs, you send a scowl in her direction, "Don't call me that." She chuckles, "Well, this is my place, I wish I could see yours." She said with a sigh,

Karkat----> kiss Terezi


You lean in and kiss her, her lips are wet, you're quite sure it's the water. Please be the water. You pull away and she has a wild grin, "You like me don't you?" Karkat blushed and "Maybe, but this is only between us." Her smile never faded, "I can keep a secret Karkles," she chuckles "That name is even worse. I'd rather be called Karcrab." She swam behind him and put her hands on his shoulders, "It'll be our little secret." He chuckles, "Okay, I need to get home, I can't stay all night." She nodded, "I'll take you home," he thought about it, "Okay." They finally swam to the top, he got on the dock, "Will I see you again?" She nodded, "Only if you meet me here again." He smiled down at her "I will, trust me." She smiled, "Bye Karcrab." He kneeled on the dock, "Bye Rezi."
