Chapter One

Flamingwhisper sat down next to Hollowfur, who was carrying his kits. Mudpaw stared at his father, Flamingwhisper stared back raising his eyebrows. Mudpaw immediately turned his gaze to their leader.
"Today three kits are old enough to become apprentices, Whitekit, Firekit, and Dovekit" Volestar started, "Whitekit please step up". A bouncy white furred kit raced up to her leader. "Whitekit until you receive your warrior and elder name, you shall be known as Whitepaw" Volestar smiled, "your mentor will be Flamingwhisper".
Flamingwhisper kept in a surprised gasp, and walked up to his new apprentice. Volestar turned to Flamingwhisper, "Flamingwhisper will you pass on your knowledge of fighting and hunting to Whitepaw?". "I will" Flamingwhisper nodded. "Whitepaw will you take in every lesson that your mentor teaches you, and respect all warriors?" Volestar now turned to Whitepaw. "YES" Whitepaw squeaked. "By the powers of Star shine, I bind you mentor and apprentice" Volestar laid his nose on their heads, "good luck".
"Firekit step up" Volestar ordered, "Firekit until you receive your warrior and elder name, you shall be known as Firepaw, your mentor will be Patchpelt". Patchpelt slinked up the rocks to his leader, he grinned at Firepaw.
"Patchpelt will you pass on to this apprentice your stealth and hunting skills?" Volestar blinked at the warrior. "I'd be honored" Patchpelt meowed. "Firepaw will you try your best to master every warrior skill, and respect all those older than you?" Volestar let his gaze settled upon the young kitten. "Duh, I mean of course!" Firepaw smiled. "By the powers of Star shine, I bind you mentor and apprentice" Volestar laid his nose on their heads, "I wish you luck".
"Dovekit step up" Volestar meowed as a grey she-cat stepped up, her blue eyes wandering around those below her. "Dovekit until you receive your warrior and elder name, you shall be known as Dovepaw, your mentor is Tumblethorn" Volestar beckoned the brown tom to the High Rocks.
"Tumblethorn do you promise to pass down your fighting skills to Dovepaw?" Volestar questioned the warrior. "I promise" Tumblethorn agreed. "Dovepaw will you try to master every warrior strength, and respect our warriors?" Volestar asked the nervous apprentice. "Sure, I'll try" Dovepaw meowed. "By the powers of Star shine, I bind you mentor and apprentice" Volestar laid his nose on their heads, " luck be with you".
"WHITEPAW,FIREPAW,DOVEPAW" the cats cheered from the clearing.
