Go To Sleep
Today was the day I could recollect my memories and go see the house in the woods again. Not only is it abandoned, but it is now burned down. It might be all ashes but I'm going to just go check it out for now. I tell my mom I'm going out and then I walk out my front door. The woods is right by my house so it's not a very long walk. Once I get in the woods, I feel this awful feeling in my stomach. It's there and then it's gone.I get to the part in the woods where the trail becomes bigger, I walk down the trail until I'm greeted by the house. I gasp at what I see.
The house is very burned, but it still look's like a house. It's still in one piece, there are just burn marks on the wood and ashes falling down from the outside. I can't imagine what it looks like in the inside. I edge myself closer to the house and then walk in the burned off doorway. It takes me a minute to adjust, but the house is full of dust and it's making me cough everywhere I go.
I realize there is no way to go up the steps anymore. The upper level of the house is where me and Jeff used to hang out. It was very sad I couldn't get up there, I wanted to feel Jeffery's presence again. It would make things a lot more easier for me.
I can feel my body get goosebumps. Soon I hear a noise from the other side of the room and it sounds like there is somebody in the house. I try to hold in my scream, bad things happened in this house and I didn't want them to happen again. I walked out of the house just to make myself safe, and then I heard someone behind me.
"Hello?" I called out into the air to try and see if the person would answer me.
"Elise? Is that you." What sound's like Jeff's voice, melts into the air. I can feel my body tense, and I can feel the air whistle around me. It's silent for a second until I turn around.
It's definitely Jeff, same white hoodie, same jeans, same shoes. Just how I last saw him. His face, hidden under the hood of the hoodie and I can see it has changed. It looks burned, almost. His face is pale. His eyes look like his eyes, same color, same shape, but his beautiful eyelashes that were once there are gone. His smile is wide and long. Black in color. It's a almost shy looking smile, and his teeth are still as white, but are contrasted against his pale skin.
"Jeffy, it's me Elise. Do you recognize me?" He looks at me, knife in hand.
"You're not Elise. You're different looking. You don't look like my Elise." He says, his voice cold and dark. It's deeper then it was before, something I'll most likely have to get used to.
"I haven't seen you in 5 years. I'm 15 now. And so are you." He looks at me in fear.
"Please, say something Elise would only know."
"Poor Jeffy, the last thing I said to you. Was go to sleep."
