Qfeast story rules getting out of hand?

Qfeast, when I joined, had a rule that stories must have 2000 characters, but soon after they upped it to 3000. That was bad enough, but when the admins added a rule that says "insufficient line breaks", requiring the writer to make unneeded enters and then to type something that was not planned. (see my story A Dark History. the "next chapter:" was not originally planned.) I understand requiring a real story but this is going overboard!
