a boy with abandonment and attachment issues starts to catch feelings for someone

he always wants to talk to that one person and no one else, eventually cutting off other past relationships with friends and others

he becomes obsessive with that person, only ever thinking about them, soon it becomes an unhealthy habit

he would constantly be on call with that person or would be spamming them with messages, afraid that they dont care about him anymore

he wouldnt let that person hang up on calls thinking that they would be getting tired of him, eventually mentally draining the person

the person can barely keep conversation with the boy anymore, the calls becoming dry and slow, they would last for hours but never fully talk

the boy becomes worried for the person, noticing a change in their behavior, concerned they want to talk, but the person cant call, they say that they are too drained

the boy, worried about the person and upset at himself thinking he caused them to be drained, causes himself to spiral into a depressive episode and relapse

the boy disappointed in himself, never tells the person scared that they would be upset.

hiding any evidence of his relapse and his depression, becomes overly optimistic and happy, the person soon suspects then, knowing sonething is off

the person soon calls the person randomly, and askes them a single question

'are you okay? did something happen?'

hearing that question, the boy immediately bursts into tears over call, sobbing and apologizing to the person

the boy had bottled it up for so long that when the person that they loved had found out they felt like a disappointment to the person.

the person hearing the excessive apologies knows what had happened, and starts to comfort the boy over call, even though the person mentally drained from the boy, they still want him to feel comforted.
