an eye for an eye
lAn hour passed and it was time for Noel to fight his second battle. This fight will decide if he is going to fight in the finals. His name was called and he walked out to the fallen pillars. There was no even ground you were either fighting an uphill or downhill battle. He walked to the front of arena and waited for his opponent. A big man with two arakh’s he wore only leather pants but no shirt sweat shone on his skin he stood a foot taller then Noel. He had muscles that shined in there light because of the sweat. Noel cracked his neck and waited for the announcer’s words. “May your steel tell your fate and may your skills keep you alive.” He boomed. “Fight!” Noel ran up on of the fallen pillars to get a better vantage point. He reached the top and looked down and saw the man walking towards him. “You’re in a rush aren’t you.” Noel yelled. The man looked at him and said nothing. “I see no hurry to die I don’t blame you take your time.” He yelled. The man reached the bottom of the fallen pillar and started to make his way up dragging his swords on the cracked marble. Noel sow blood in his eyes. This man was determined to kill him. He wanted the money. The only thing that gave Noel the upper hand in this battle was that he wanted the money more. Noel thought of his mom and was filled with desire and blood lust. Noel did something that he regretted as soon as he did it. He charged at the man. He let his emotions get the better of him. He paid dearly for his mistake. He wasn’t able to bring his axe up to block the swing so he tried to doge but the blade caught his face and cut from his forehead through his eye and down his cheek. He fell off of the pillar and hit the ground hard. The man laughed as he hit the ground. Noel held his left eye with both hands as blood seeped through his fingers. “Stupid.” He cursed himself. He pulled on hand off of his eye and grabbed one of his axes. “I’m not dead yet!” He taunted the man. The man’s laughed silenced and anger filled his eyes. “You got my eye now I’m coming for those pretty brown eyes of yours.”
The man flipped his arakhs in his hands and jumped off the pillar and raised his swords above his head. Noel evaded backwards. The man hit the ground with a crash. His arakhs punctured the earth. Noel saw his opportunity. The man raised his head and Noel swung cutting across the man’s face and through his eyes. “An eye for an eye.” He said. “It’s more like a two for one deal.” The man yelled in agony. He ripped his arakhs out of the ground and started to swing furiously. “C’mon it’s over there is no way you can kill me without sight.” Noel said. “Just yield and I don’t have to kill you.” He begged.” The man continued to yell and swing. Noel sighed. He dogged under one of his sloppy swings and brought down his axe on the base of his neck. The man’s movements ceased all out once. Noel looked at the ground ignoring the crowd. He walked into the hall and everybody cheered him. Ned came up to him. You’re going into the finals you have a chance at Tamarack.” He said. “You can slay the mountain and claim the reward.” Noel raised his head and looked at Ned. Ned flinched at the sight of his eye. “Come with me, you need to get that wrapped up.” Noel laughed. “You think.” He said. Ned laughed along. “Your mom must be very special to you.” He said. Noel looked at him. “She is.” He said with total sincerity.
