detention!!!

I was awakened by my mother shouting “first day at school. Get up” Despite my mother’s encouraging voice I was not in a mood to wake up from my cozy bed. I replied “it is just 15 minutes to 8”My mother looked surprised “do you realize that now onwards you have to walk to school. And your school starts at 8:15.you barely has an hour.”
That shook me up. I jumped from my bed ran to the washroom brushed my teeth and opened my cupboard. First day of school I have to make a good impression.But with the students or the teacher’s? I did not want to look like a nerd nor too dullish. At the end I decided to put my black tank top, black miniskirt with see through leggings .I deciced to put my blackish brown wavy hair down .I looked good not like a nerd nor like an adult. I looked like student. Maybe, a bit sexy. Black always suited my milk white skin and my hourglass shaped body.
In my old school I was not Miss Popular nor a nerd. I was like average in  the popularity list. But I had a dying crush on Taylor Parker. He was not Mr.Popular yet he was hot .He sings nicely like, very nicely. We got together,last year. Leaving him in Manhattan was like a knife poking in my heart.
Thinking of him made me smile. I looked at the clock it was 5 minutes past 8.Damn! I was late. I ran downstairs grabbed my backpack and a slice of bread and ran. I went to the receptionist she gave me my books .I found my class .But my teacher already arrived. Miss Santiago my class teacher was not strict but was stern. So, to make a long story short I got detention on my first day of school because I was late. Pretty good start huh? Miss Santiago told me to take a seat. Every seat was vacant except two. I sat on the one which was near the window. The second seat vacant was on my left side .Suddenly the girl in front of me turned back and smiled at me. I smiled back. She introduced herself as Mary Jenks and I told her I was Rosy Elion. When Miss Santiago was about to start the class a boy came running. He stopped at the door and panted. He was also late. Miss Santiago said only one word when she saw him “Detention!”He then came inside and sat on the chair beside me. I started staring at his green eyes .He had blond hair and was wearing a green T shirt. He saw me staring at him so he stared at me back. So I acted to listen to Miss Santiago while he kept on staring at me.
Next class was computer. It was a practical class. I am pretty good at computer, so it was easy but I am a dumb when theory classes came. During these classes I came across many people .There was this blond girl I had a conversation about latest fashion and she was an encyclopedia about it. I forgot her name so every time I see her I just smile and try avoiding a conversation. Mary Jenks was a real help during those first five periods. Before any period start she gave me a brief account of the teacher and how the period was. The most common words she used were –Boring, Sleepy, Entertaining   etc. Then there was lunch .Cafeteria was allowed for kids more than 15.So I sat in the steps with Mary Jenks and her friend Jess and we had lunch together. Then I went to Miss Santiago for my detention. Mary gave me a brief account of her detention with Miss Santiago . “She always gives very tough tasks for detention” said Mary.
