Earth and Shadow (read desc)

Rain

I was amazed.
I know it might sound silly, but the fact I just travelled over a vast ocean without even meaning to seemed too incredible to be true.
THEN to make things even crazier I got saved by a tall, dark, stranger who claimed his name was Nightmare.
And I can't help myself, but he's so hot that I may or may not have lost my 'stranger danger' reasoning.
After all, if he wanted to hurt me he probably would have done it already. And he doesn't seem like the kind of guy to go back on his word.
I smiled. He made me feel safe just by being around him. I could feel from the earth and the air the magic around him. He was strong. Really strong. He didn't have to help me, but he did. And that just made me feel even better.
"Are you injured?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No no, I'm fine. So you said we're in the forest of monsters?"
"Yeah. Its the largest forest in the land. Its been growing and changing since the beginning of time. So there are a lot of dangerous beasts here. Hence the name."
His deep voice drew me to him. I had no idea who this guy was, yet the way he acted and how he said things inspired me. He reminded me of a old legend. I'm not sure which ones he would relate to, but he acted a lot older and wiser then his age insisted.
"Here, take this and get dressed. It would probably feel better being in clean, fresh, clothes for a change." He handed me some clothes then turned his back so I could get changed in modesty.
After I was changed I tapped him on the shoulder.
"I'm done"
He turned around again.
"Oh good, it fits."
I nodded and smiled.
"So Nightmare.. Why don't you want anyone knowing your real name?"
He looked away, and I knew I said the wrong thing.
"Its personal."
"I-I understand. My name is Rain by the way."
"Its nice to meet you Rain."
"Nice to meet you too!"
We sat in awkward silence for a moment. Finally Nightmare broke it.
"So what's your land like?"
"Its... Its not very nice right now. The places in my world are separated so that everyone is in a category. You must stay in the land your born in, your not allowed to go. The places are basically the elements, like water, earth, fire, wind, light and dark. You can't stray from your land under any circumstances, and you can't mate with anyone outside of your race. There's also angel killings... The fire elves and the fallen angels like to target and hunt down angels like its some sort of game."
"Wow... That sounds rough. here, you can go wherever you want, do whatever you want, as long as you don't break any major laws."
I sighed.
"Your world sound much nicer then mine. Simpler, yet nicer. At mine we're at war... Everyone's trying to kill everyone. The angels are fighting back, the fire elves are targeting the wind elves, and the water elves are targeting...well people like me, earth elves. The pixies went into hiding the fairies are going back to their home lands...everything is falling apart."
My voice broke at the end and I looked down to avoid Nightmares gaze. My eyes felt wet, like I might cry, and I didn't want to look like a crybaby in front of him. After a moment Nightmare seemed to hesitate, then he rested a hand on my shoulder. I looked up at his sapphire-ruby eyes.
"Hey, its alright. Maybe I can visit your world and knock some sense into your people. After all it seems they need some help getting their shit together. And I happen to have the knowledge to help."
I couldn't help but giggle. The thought was so crazy.
"Yeah if the leaders would stop fighting maybe they'll listen for once."
Nightmare smiled and took his hand away.
"Then I guess its settled. I have to ask however, will I be attacked?"
"The fire elves might attack, but its not likely. Everyone else should leave you be."
"Then I don't have to worry."
"When are you planning on going?" I asked.
"Right now if your willing."
I smiled, and I felt a burst of excitement.
"Let's go!"
