Beth and Randy We all went back home that afternoon and made plans to meet each other at the park to watch fireworks. "So Cunningham?"

"What?" I asked. "You going to make your first move tonight?" Howard asked. "What?!" I asked surprised. "Oh you know, you and Beth are getting pretty close." He said. I'm pretty sure my face turned red. "I mean, do think I should?"

"Yes!" Howard said. "Girls like Beth don't last long, because this is no fairytale Cunningham." Howard said. "I guess you're right." I sighed. "Of course I am." Howard said. We met Beth at the park. "I brought snacks." She said throwing chip bags at us. We sat down on the grass and waited for the fireworks to begin. Howard elbowed me. "First move." He whispered. "I know, I know!" I whispered back. I looked at Beth then at her hand resting on the grass. I could easily hold her hand, but what if she stops me and hates me forever? Beth stood up. "I'll be back, I left something behind."

"I'll go with you." I said standing up. "Ok." She said. We walked back to the school and climbed up to the roof. "What do we need from here?" I asked. "I heard that you can see the fireworks better from up here." Beth said. We stood up there watching the skies until the fireworks started. "They're beautiful." Beth said. "Not as beautiful as you." I said. She looked at me shocked. I facepalmed my self. "I said that out loud didn't I?"

"Yeah, but it's ok." Beth said giving me a smile. There was a big boom and Beth wrapped her arms around me for protection. "It was just the fireworks." I said. She was still hung onto me. This was the perfect time to make the first move, but I had to do it right. I slowly lifted my arm around Beth. "What are you doing?" Beth asked. I put my arm down. "Um... nothing." I said. I sighed and looked into Beth's eyes. "No, I, um... I was trying to do this." I said. I leaned in close to Beth and...
