Beth's Song

When we entered the gym we saw a band playing. "Hey! Can you guys tone it down? We're trying to work not practice!" She shouted. They all stopped and  glared at her. "Aw come on Elizabeth!" A little girl with pigtails beg. "Yeah, give us a break!" A guy with dark blue shaggy hair complained. "She's right... look! Elizabeth brought a boy!" A girl with long red hair teased. Beth's face turned bright red. "Hi, I'm Tori and this is the gang." The little girl with pigtails said. "That's John and that's Harper." She said. "We're going to play at the dance on Friday."

"Really?" I asked. She nodded. "I play guitar, John plays the drums, Harper plays the keyboard, and Beth sings."

"Really? You sing?" I asked. She smiled and shrugged. "Yeah," She said. "But we really need to get to work." She said. They all sighed. "Fine, let's get this over with." John said. We spent hours getting the gym read, but it still wasn't finished yet. Tori fell asleep on the floor and John fell asleep on the bleachers. I laid against the wall almost asleep, but opened my eyes when Beth and Harper started playing. "Turn the beat around!" Beth started to sing. "Ugh! Sing a different sing." Harper complained. "Ok..." Beth said. She picked up a guitar and started playing. "He went from zero to my hero." Beth sang. "YES! I love this song!" Harper said. "I love you more then I ever found a way to say. Saving me from monsters at night, but yet... he will always fight. Everything's gonna be alright!" Beth sang. Harper stared to play the keyboard and joined in. "HE DOESN'T KNOW ME! BUT, I- KNOW HE!" They sang together. "I know your closed eyes watching me! I love the you hear my pleads!" They started to sing a little softer now. "And I know... you'll find me- there." They sang. It went back to Beth now. "The others guys, never appreciated me-, but you... hear me. What you mean to me, I know that this will never happen. I hope you know that you'll always keep me laughin. I would give it all... I WOULD SACRAFICE!" They sang the chorus again, then got softer and ended the song. I got up and clapped. "Bravo girls." I said. Beth's face turned red. "Um..."

"Thanks." Harper said interrupting Beth.
