My Hidden Twin

The thing..

        "What's wrong sweety?" my mother asked me. What was I supposed to say? Oh its nothing just that one of the people that abused me wasn't in that car that just drove away. I couldn't say that!

        "It's nothing" I said as we walked back to the house. What was I gonna do?! I had to tell Callie. She has to know. I can't keep secrets from my own twin sister. She's everything to me right now. If I keep secrets from her then I'd officially be the worst sister ever.

        We arrived at the house. But where was I gonna sleep? With my parents? With Callie? With my other siblings? I didn't think about it. All that mattered was that I was finally with my family.

        "Wait-" I said "I need to get all my stuff from next door, can Callie and I go get it?".

        "Sure" my father said.

        Callie and I went next door. I showed her my room. It was just a bed, a closet, and a table. No colors, nothing that represents me as a human being. It was just plain and gray.

        "T-This is y-your room?..." Callie asked me.

        "yup.." I responded.

        "I-It looks so lifeless.." she remarked.

        "I know.." I said to her. I grabbed my stuff, which was just a few clothes and a gem.

        "What's that?" she asked me.

        "It's a gem I found a few years ago." I told her. "It looked very familiar so I kept it."

        "Oh" she said "It looks cool!"

        "Thanks" I said.

        "Well," she said "should we go back now?".

        "Wait-" I said as I walked to my "mom's" room and grabbed my phone "now lets go!"

        We laughed and went home. On the way there I felt like someone was watching me. Then I heard someone behind me. I jumped. What was that?! Was someone following us?!

       Someone or Something jumped at us! I jumped on Callie and made sure that I was protecting her from anyone or anything.

        The thing or person grabbed at me.

        "RUN!" I told Callie. I tried getting away but I couldn't. And if im being honest, I really didn't care, I just wanted Callie to be safe. She looked at me with fear in her eyes.

        "PHOENIX!" she yelled. She was about to cry.

        No, no, no, its happening all over again! This can't happen! I managed to escape the thing or person and ran to Callie. I took her hand and we ran home.

        "Mom!" she yelled.

        "What?!" she said. She looked worried, I mean she should be. We just got attacked!

        "W-We got a-attacked.." I said as I touched the big scar I had on my leg.

        "Oh my god!" our mother said. She looked super worried now.

        "Oh Phoenix! I-I didn't see that!" Callie said running to me.

        "I-I'm fine.." I said.

        "Obviously, you're not!" said Callie. She's so kind. She got some ointment and and put it on me.

        "Ouch!" I winced in pain. It hurt a lot so I growled. I usually did that, it's not exactly normal but I've been doing that for a while.

        What did that mean tho? Then I heard one of my siblings upstairs howl.

        "What was that?!" I asked.

        WE ARE DEFINITELY NOT HUMANS!
