2: Titanius
A gentle voice startled me "Titanius, are you alright?" It was Melina holding a basket of carrots looking at me worriedly.
"I-I," was all I could get out before I set my jaw and looked at her. "I'm fine, Melina. Thank you." I walked stiffly towards my horse, Arbor. I stroked his nose then and mounted him smoothly. We rode into the depths of the forest until I knew no one would could find us. I dismounted and looked around anxiously before starting to hink about the past.
~I was back on that day, the day that constantly haunted my dreams. My mother had prepared me for this day for the first 6 years of my life. I sat at our table nervous as I ever had been. My mother was still getting herself presentable which I didn't understand as she always looked beautiful. There was a loud knock on the door that rattled me to my core. My mother glided ever so graceful over to the door opening it with her classic smile. A bearded man with a stern look stood on our threshold. His eyes stared at my mother with a mix of lust and hatred. A few words were passed that I couldn't hear and the man's eyes darted to me. His stare was colder than any ice I have ever felt and it looked as though he would crack off a shard of the ice and stab me a million times through the heart. He pushed past my mother roughly and approached me. He didn't even speak to me just grabbed the bangs that constantly covered my eyes and yanked them back. His eyes widened to show all the horror growing within him. He turned to my mother. "What have you done to our son?!" I looked at him the word "son" ringing in my ears.
"What any mother would do!" My mother cried tears welling in her eyes.
"You've made him into a monster!" He yelled! I recoiled at the harsh word feeling it drive into the core of my soul.
"I have protected him from you!" My mother looked at me with sad eyes. "Titanius, now."~
The memory vanished as I forced it out of my mind by strength of will. I found myself doubled over on my knees squeezing back tears. Shakily, I stood repressing the thoughts. My hands quavered but I pushed away everything leaving myself into an endless abyss of obedience.
