Flash back
"Come on dad!" I giggled as I continued to run."I'm coming son." He panted as he reached me. We went to the city together today for the first time! I was bursting with excitement. "Be careful!"
"You worry to much daddy!" But he was right, I slipped and skid my knee on the curb. My knee started to sting in pain and burn in defeat. Tears struck my eyes but I refused to let them fall. I heard a sigh come from my fathers pants.
"I told you Michael."
"I know." I looked down as I blushed in embarrasement.
"Come on, lets get you cleaned up." My father picked me up and carried me bridal style and I blushed as people stared and whispered. "Next time be more careful, okay?"
"Okay dad." I learned my lesson as he set me on the grass as he cleaned my knee with water from his bottle. "Better?" He asked as he bandaged my knee. I nodded.
We walked towards the parade this time when a look struck my fathers face once the parade was over and we started walking back. "Michael?"
"Yes dad?" I replied.
"Son when you grow up, would you be the savior of the broken, the beaten and the damned?" Where was this coming from? "Will you defeat them, your demons, and all the non-believers, the plans that they have made?" Seriously?!?!
"Dad, where is this coming from?" I was worried.
"Because one day I'll leave you, a phantom to lead you in the summer, to join The Black Parade." What did he mean?! I had no clue but I nodded.
"Yes, I will dad." I finished nodding and looked up at his with worry some eyes.
"Good Michael." I was scared until he smiled. "Race ya to the car?!"
"Your on old man!" I giggled as I started running and he chuckled as he chased me.
"Hey no fair! You started before me." I giggled as I ran across the street without looking. "Michael! Watch out!" My eyes widened as a blinding white light hit them. I felt something impact my arm as the sound of crushing bones hit my ears. Everything was happening so fast! I had no idea what to make of the situation until I hit the pavement as saw my father on the road laying in a pool of blood and there was a lot of it.
"DAAAAAAAAAAAADDDD!!!!" My voice cracked as I screamed and I father twitched, trying to sit up. "DAAAD!!" I crawled over to his squished body and held him. "DAAAD!!!" I started crying. "DADDY NO!"
"Oh my gawd, is he okay?"
"What happened?"
"Is everything alright?"
"Someone call 911!" I continued to cry and hug my gravely injured father and he weakly and painfully hugged me back.
"Michael..."
"Dad!"
"Lead them Michael."
"Dad no!"
"Lead them Michael. Lead the to the black parade."
"Daddy stop it! Your going to be fine!" Hot tears stained my cheeks.
"You have the black wings." I was so confused.
"Dad no!!!!!" He went limp in my arms and I started to shake him. "Dad wake up!" He didn't move. Life was never the same. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
