Mini-Chapter #3
I frolicked and played in our front yard, letting the warm sunshine bathe my face. I laughed, feeling a cool breeze tickle my face."Hey, Witch!"
I turned around.
"Are you crazy too?" a boy sneered, "Going to end up in an asylum like your stupid mom?"
"She's not stupid!" I yelled, tears stinging my eyes, "And I'm not a witch!"
"You sure act like one!" one of the boy's friends taunted.
"Stop it!" I felt tears start to slide down my cheeks.
"Crybaby! Crybaby!"
I ran up to them, and without thinking, I punched the main boy in the face.
"Ow!" he yelled, reaching up to rub his sore jaw.
He glared at me.
"You'll pay for that, Witch!"
The boy and his friends closed in around me.
I forced myself not to scream and I stared at them all defiantly.
They instantly started hurting me, kicking and punching, pulling me to the ground.
"I won't cry," I thought, "I...must...be...strong..."
Then something peculiar happened.
The boys and girls backed away from me, utter terror etched on their faces.
They looked like they had just saw a ghost.
"Run!" a girl yelled, already turning away.
The gang quickly followed her.
The main boy still stood nearby, slowing backing away.
"You are a witch!" he yelled, "You're glowing!"
"What?" I looked at my arms.
I saw nothing.
When I glanced back up, everyone was gone.
"You liar!" I yelled after him.
I looked down again, double-checking.
Still nothing.
So, what had happened?
